Many thanks to the good peeps at Free Fight Fever for posting this clip. This is only the 2nd fight I’ve seen from the Thai Fight Japan show held this past weekend. We’ll be sure to post them as soon as we find them.
On paper this match, should be a massacre… Yod with his 200+ fights and Yasuhito is his 30+ fights. It’s turned out to be a very entertaining fight… I need to re-watch this fight… and figure out if I agree with the outcome.
Anyway enjoy.

wow! That was an exciting fight. Respect for both fighters. Yosuhito for his well timed punches and Yod showing great tiger heart.

This was one of the better Yod fights I’ve seen in a while. He actually had something invested in the fight. It makes sense that he lost though. The first round would probably be scored as 10-7 against yod then 10-9 and 10-9 for yod giving him a total score of 27 versus Yosuhito’s 28. The first knock down looked a little suspicious but the second one was right on. You can see Yod wobble a little. Despite the damage in the first round he certainly recovered and beat on Yosuhito. I feel bad for the Japanese guy that he won because Yod will probably rematch and destroy him. ouch!

Thanks to Matt for breaking down the scoring, agreed, 2 8 counts in a 3 round fight and all you gotta do is survive til the end.
Malo (Yosuhito) was training at Kiatphontip for about a month in preparation for this fight. I was around when he first arrived and Rob introduced him to trainer Omnoi and told him he had a fight with Yod coming up. Omnoi stayed on top of Malo the whole time he was at Kiatphontip and Malo trained very hard, this victory is well deserved in my opinion.

Hi Grime
I was training with you at Kiatphontip while Malo (Yosuhito) was at the camp getting put through his paces by Omnoi.
I totally agreed with what you wrote and after watching the fight was impressed to see that he practically controlled the fight for its entire duration.
Hope you training is going well?

Good scalp for the Japanese dude, he’s tough.
M lucas – I thought the same about the first knockdown but judging by the second knockdown I reakon the referee was close enough to see more damage on the first one, If you get what I mean?On video it looks sus but I think it probably was a legit 8 count?
Be good to see a rematch of these two? Also purely from a uk point of view be good to see Jordan Watson fighting the Japanese guy, reakon that would be a good scrap!?

yod wasnt doing shit to evade his punches for some odd reason like he usually does. those 20 million straight knees were crazy though

1st knockdown looks like a slip to me… but the 2nd one is definitive. Never seen that look on Yod’s face before…! Props to Yasuhito.

wow good scrap by both. Yasu`s hands made their mark..defo did his homework. Yod was still a wrecking machine though, despite eating headshots. 2more rounds would have been quite a show eh..A rematch is def in order…great Monday upload..thanks Nop and Free fight

Pity for Yod. Like all Great fighters will eventually succumb to age and father time. Yod is slowing every show and every fight i see him in. Yod also is gaining weight and looks out of shape. Don’t want to see Yod turn into the next Bovy thats for sure.
I suppose if you accomplished what Yod did in his career, its hard to fight motivation. (Lumpini title holder,WMC,Contender Asia,Kings Cup, over 200+ fights). Hopefully this is a wake up call for Yod and fairtex team. Get him in elite shape again, like back in 2006-07… His kicks although still deadly, is not the same as well..
Good luck, yod.. come back one more time.. baby!!!! I know, its not the end of Yod, but its hard to see your icon, skill decrease.. like this.. :(

Hi there!
although I don’t like to see one of my idols losing an apparently easy fight, I must admit these kind of surprises spice up the game.
If anyone wants to see them, these are the fights I’ve found up to now; I’ve two missing: Fabio Pinca VS Yuya Yamato & Yohan Lidon VS Akihiro Gono

Another video of the fight. Professional raw footage without commentary and slow motion replays of the knockdowns from different angles to help you decide if the first knockdown was a slip. Looks like Yod simply got caught – one too many times.

Ow man!!!
That guy make Yod perform the “chicken dance” on the second knockdown!!!
Well, Yod is fearsome, but he´s not invencible. Finally, someone done the right strategy, putting the straight punch in use.
