Yodsanklai vs. Vuyisile Colossa
February 16, 2010 by nopstar
I was going to wait until I could find a clip, but it’s too big not to post. As some of you may have already heard, Yodsanklai lost his 154lbs WBC belt this past weekend to 27-year-old South African Vuyisile Colossa. This was part of the Boxe-Thai Guinea tournament 2 in Equitoria Guinea.
Here is a clip of their March fight. As always, if any of you come across the clip drop me an email,( nopstar at my muay thai dot com) or feel free to post it into the comments.
According to the banter on the forums, Yod had 1 or 2 standing counts against Colossa, and still lost the decision. I find that extremely hard to believe… There is a lot of talk about Yods pace in the fight, that he might have cruised the last few rounds thinking he had the win… I guess we’ll soon see.

Yea.. he probably just kicked back or something… He’ll get it back.
oh man sounds unbelievable, I can’t imagine colossa dominating 3 or so rounds against yod, or yod falling asleep…
Oh Yod… I don’t doubt that he probably just kicked back after thinking he had the fight in the bag. I can’t wait for him to fight somebody that he just wants to kick the crap out of… Sometimes it seems like he’s too nice to his opponents for his own good.
Yod has been looking a bit too relaxed as of late, guess thats what happens when no one is there to really challenge you (Petro take a hint=). And when l I say relaxed I in no way mean lazy, just that I miss the Yod fights where its total annihilation that never gets past 3rd round. Anyway, I think its going to see him get it back…maybe its the Yodsenklai renaissance=)
Wikipedia says he lost on a majority Dec., what? with 2 knockdowns? I see a very destructive re-match!
if thais believe they have a fight in the bag, they take it easy. to not hurt the opponent more than he needs to be hurt or to preserve oneself. i thought this was common knowledge.
i would like to see the fight before i comment further
yeah. but you figure Yod and his camp would know better since he has been fighting internationally for a while now…
did anyone see the fight?
A lot of yods more recent fights, He could have finished most of them more or less right away. But he dragged them out because he didnt fight 100%.. Hopefully this puts a fire under his ass and gets back to the yod everyone wants to see.
Damn, I want to see this fight!
Speaking of africans, this guy won a WBC title from the dutch guy Van de Boss. Didn’t know there was even Muay Thai in africa. Really unorthodox style too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BvrCpd6dSAc
Yod fought Vuyisile before if i’m not wrong…my impression was Vuyisile was good but yod was in a class of his own…din expect him to lose… videos pls anyone……….
It does take a genius to figure out why Yod lost if you’d seen the bookmarkers’ odds against Vuyisile winning. Utterly disappointed!
Anybody have the video to this?
