Wuthidej Lookphrabat

Wuthidej pronounced (woo-ti-date) is widely regarded as one of the best pound for pound fighters in Thailand today. His introduction to Muay Thai came, when he won his first fight at a small temple fair at the age of 9.
Some 18 years later the now 122 lbs. Wuthidej has amassed over 200+ fights. He was named “The best Muay Thai Fighter of 2007″ by all three major organizations; Sports Writers Association of Thailand, Siam Sport Daily and Sport Authority of Thailand. Just last week Wuthidej claimed the Prince’s Cup.
Despite winning several Omnoi Stadium belts he’s fallen short of his efforts to claim a Lumpini and Rajadomnern Stadium belts. Sound like anyone else we know? At 27 Wuthidej is considered an elder statesman of our sport. Too small for K-1 Wuthidej who figures he has another 4 or 5 years in him has one last goal… to be crowned Lumpini or Rajadomnern Staudium Champion.
It’s difficult for me to even comprehend how stacked the talent pool at the Rajadomnern and Lumpini has to be. It’s difficult to imagine how those belt have alluded someone as decorated as Wuthidej.
I must admit that I’m still learning names of all the highly skilled Nak Muay. I did a google on this lad to try and see some of his fights……

I am embarrassed to say that b4 readin this post I had never heard of Wuthidej. Shame on me….However thank u for introducin’ this Nakmuay to us (those of us who didn’t kno him).

Spyda and Gusnark dont be sad, I never heard of him either. But I am fairly new to this sport so forgive me. Sounds like a Sombat like story, exept he is to small for k1. Would love to see some fights of him sometime.

This dude’s combinations are amazing. The way he mixes punches, forward elbows and low kicks is just amazing. his opponent was confused because he had no idea if Wuthidej was goin low, mid or high.

DUDE!!! Ganchai is a soldier….I take my hat off to him.
To get KOed wit a elbow and get back up after 5 seconds spent unconscious on the canvas and to just spring up still keep fightin aggressively is just the most insane thing I have seen in a long time. Wutthidet is no joke. Thanx again for this one Pac.
