Where’s My Ticket!

February 29, 2008 by nopstar

Um… I’m not going to panic yet, but my ticket to slamm hasn’t come yet. Until I get them in my grubby hands I’m going to be a little anxious.

Anyway, I’ll just have to print out my email receipts and hope for the best. Otherwise I’m going to be posting how awesome it was outside the stadium…

Payap, has once again posted pics of Thai’s training in Holland. Many thanks, to payap for sharing with the rest of us.

When you get a moment, you can see the rest of the pictures here.

One of my personal favorites, my Thai brothers warming their asses on the heater…

Oh this one is simply classic it’s of Attachai holding pads for Saenchai, it looks like there is a slight learning curve on how to hold for Saenchai’s cart wheel kick.

That’s going to leave a mark…

Anyway I gotta get showered get to work… hope you fellas have an excellent weekend.

I really can’t wait for this man. This is definitely the best Thai lineup of all Slamm events. All they lack is Orono and Buakaw and it will be peeerfect!

  2. Anonymous on February 29th, 2008 1:25 am

Is it just me or doesn Nareupol always looks like he’s daydreaming? haha

“This is definitely the best Thai lineup of all Slamm events.”
    Totally agree! What an event!

Yeah, I hope all the Thais win, who needs Buakaw, we have Yodi Yoda… war!

Great news about the ticket Nopstar.

  9. Tong Po on February 29th, 2008 10:17 am

Looks like a damn great event! Looking forward to seeing vids of the fights. Anyone know how we can see this here in the US?

  10. Tong Po on February 29th, 2008 10:47 am

Malaipet looks huge compared to Yod, Nareupol, (and of course Seanchai) in the pic of them sitting.

  11. Shadyeskimo on February 29th, 2008 1:43 pm

Nice pics. So did you decide whether you are filming some footage or did you drop that idea?

  12. Stephen aka Taiwan Superstar on February 29th, 2008 2:01 pm

hey nop, dont mean to be rude but i believe that it’s samranchai holding the pads for saenchai .. . . ^__^”

  13. YiP on February 29th, 2008 3:04 pm

Ahahaha look at anuwat’s face when sanchai kicks the poor pad man.

  14. Wolf on March 1st, 2008 2:13 am

We needs to see this! We needs FILM! O_O

I love the way Yod sits =D
Outside the ring I feel that his body-language is somewhat girly :D

  16. greg on March 1st, 2008 2:52 am

“I love the way Yod sits =D
Outside the ring I feel that his body-language is somewhat girly”

The 2nd pic isn’t really flattering for Yod. Seriously, haha.

Is there any chance that the video of the event will be posted anywhere on the net ever???

  17. Shadyeskimo on March 1st, 2008 3:54 am

Greg Youtube will definiteley get it at some point, but you may have to wait, unless youre lucky of course. TV Cameras are a usual sight at Slamm and Especially with so BIG Thai names. They would be Nuts not to film it.

  18. Shadyeskimo on March 1st, 2008 3:55 am

    And Televise it of course.

  19. Gr Ch chinaman on March 1st, 2008 10:41 pm

dude. they got major CANKLES! hahaha. truck calves fo sho! greg just called yod a “girly-man.” i caught yod once in the show too. he was sitting on the couch with his legs crouched in a ball in a fetal position like my lady does when she watches LOST. i was like, “you need some jesus in your life.” lol. all joking aside Yod is the man and i find his casual but strong confidence the most amusing. remember when he makes fun of the blue opponents after the match in their post fight meetings? STRAIGHT COMEDY!

  20. hawaii fight fan on March 2nd, 2008 4:12 pm

anyone see the fight? Pure technical dominance, with punch and leg kick combos.

  21. Buakawas on March 2nd, 2008 4:19 pm

No, but i just saw the results!

  22. Deimian on March 2nd, 2008 4:59 pm

    what happen

  23. Stack on March 2nd, 2008 5:03 pm

I saw the results too. But I won’t comment whether it’s fair or unfair until I actually see all the fights. Some decisions were questionable from what I am told.

The other thing is 1/2 of this was 5 dumb M-1 MMA fights. Don’t understand this to be honest. Slamm is a pretty strong brand on its own. M-1 needs Slamm more than Slamm needs M-1.

Anyone who saw this what did you think of Souwer’s parting comments?

  24. Deimian on March 2nd, 2008 5:28 pm

    where are the parting comments?

  25. greg on March 2nd, 2008 10:57 pm

Haven’t seen the fights (c’mon youtube!!!) but I think Souwer has made it clear that he is currently the #1 fighter in K1 Max. At least that’s my opinion. A rematch with Buakaw and a fresh Masato (Buakaw had already f****d his legs up I think).

I wonder how he would do against the Thais under MT rules. I read somewhere else that he mentioned something after the fight like he would be willing to fight the Thais under Lumpini rules, but don’t quote me on that.

  26. Deimian on March 3rd, 2008 12:47 am

?? what how is he the top buakaw did the work for him. fresh masato no one is going to be fresh going in against 3 guys well except buakaw.
buakaw is the best conditioned fighter there is in max we all know that he should have won it 3 times. and on top of that if you want to talk about being fresh i remember souwer had a bye in the 2005 tournament buakaw fought his opponents for 3 rounds straight

  27. Deimian on March 3rd, 2008 12:48 am

masato got beaten by souwer 2 times, they were all very convincining beat downs too
him and kraus are another story

  28. greg on March 3rd, 2008 2:48 am

Okay, I just want to emphasize when I said “At least that’s my opinion”. I may be biased because I like his style, throwing a lot of effective combos and powerful kicks. Plus he’s got those funny pants.

Anyway, I guess Buakaw-Masato might make more sense than Souwer-Masato (I bow down to you there). More about freshness, Souwer may have been fresher in the 2005 final, but in 2006 he went into the final looking like he belonged in the emergency room.

I love tournaments, but if you want to know who the stronger of two fighters is, then they really should fight in the first round of the tourney, not the last.

  29. matt on March 3rd, 2008 3:48 am

Anyone got video links to the souwer/Yod fight.I saw one round of it on youtube off k1fans and Yod was annihalating him dying to know what happened to change that?!!(Infact anyone got videos of any of the fights?!!)

  30. Dan on March 3rd, 2008 5:37 am

Yod loss? I saw incomplete round in you tube and Yod seems to be in control of that round. Can’t wait for nopstar.

  31. nopstar on March 3rd, 2008 7:11 am

I got in this morning, have footage will post soon.

  32. matt on March 3rd, 2008 8:10 am

cool quick as you like, not that im impatient or anything!!

  33. Shadyeskimo on March 3rd, 2008 10:36 am

Coool And Thanks for posting, and you are a lucky bastard for having seen Saenchai, Yod, samranchai, and Souwer in the same night.

  34. Stack on March 3rd, 2008 4:38 pm

Souwer really is that good. I am not shocked at the outcome but I am mildly surprised. The guy’s fight record is ridiculous for a westerner. He’s had so many tough fights at such a young age.

  35. KoolGuy on March 3rd, 2008 11:15 pm

WTH? on the wikipedia, on andy souwer its say he wont by ext. dec. and on Yodsanklai it say he also won ext. dec. wth is going on?

  36. Peter on March 4th, 2008 12:07 am

  39. Stack on March 4th, 2008 4:00 am

Like I said Souwer does seem to be the best western style kickboxer at his weight at the moment. Muay Thai is another story but give Andy some credit he took on an overweight Yod and still beat him even if it took him an extra round.

I cannot believe I just agreed with a pack of MMA fans.

The Thai dude froze their ASS in holland!!! for a thai person to go to holland is like for an american to go to antartica lol
