There’s a buddhist proverb that states a man will feel at ease when he understands the meaning of enough. The latest shameful news coming out of the Por. Pramuk camp is that they want to sue Buakaw for breach of contract. As you may know Buakaw had a falling out with his camp, if you missed all of that you can read it here.
Buakaw is still technically under the por.pramuk banner and doesn’t (under thai law) have the right to fight. It’s a well known secret that the por.pramuk camp wasn’t giving Buakaw his fair share of his winnings. Hence, the walkout… but contracts are contracts…
Shame on you Mr. Pramuk, cut your losses, swallow your pride and let him go. You’ve made more then enough money off of his back, focus your energy on finding someone else to exploit. He’s well past his prime and he’s still got a few more years left in him, let him go. Enough is enough.

A man will feel at ease when he understands the meaning of enough.
Nop, thats quite a powerful maxim, often overlooked yet a good way to put one`s life into perspective. As consumer driven as the Western world has become, it is very easy to fall into the trap of “keeping up with the Jones`”, constantly falling into clever marketing to get the latest electronics, car..even latest pair of fancy gloves/pads etc. I am not saying it is an evil “Matrix-like” system; its just that it is so debt/leverage dependent that if you are not smart about it you can fall into an economic trap quite easily,
I must say that Muay Thai, in no small part, has helped me to try to visualize what is “enough” for me; traveling to other countries is a strong cultural aid as well. Once you see that, then you start seeing needs vs wants and are more willing to part with the wants and the associated debt tied to it. Then maybe you can start pursuing things you like, as opposed to things you have to do. A close example, talk to your gym owners-chances are they not making a ton of $$, but they gave up the chance to do other jobs to teach and practice muay thai-they discovered what was enough for them. Their opportunity costs are quite high
Oftentimes we talk of Muay Thai in the combat /competition sense, but for me there is another subtle side that, if you can tune in to it, is very beneficial in balancing the mind. I never knew this was a Buddhist saying, however it has been my mantra for the past 3 years..quite funny to see it here.
Once again, Muay Thai is life.

I am not surprised. Por Pramuk did this to Namsaknoi as well. He refused to fight for the camp, because he was fucked over by Por Pramuk. Then he couldn’t fight at all, and had to wait till his contract was done. Now Buakaw is going through the same thing. And knowing the “loss of face”-importance, Por Pramuk will not stop till they do everything to fuck Buakaw over. I am happy, though, that Buakaw looks for publicity to tell this slavery-story, which Por Pramuk has plenty experience with. All we know Por Pramuk has been fucking over more students than Buakaw and Namsaknoi allone. Everybody alligned with Por Pramuk should ban this dictatorish asshole Thai maffia douchebag.

I wonder why he fought under the Por Pramuk name and not under Buakaw Banchamek?
April 19, 2012 at 10:39 pm
He fought under Por Pramuk name so he can legally fight with little ramifications. Pramuk Gym cant really go after him for fighting, because he was sporting the Por Pramuk banner. If Buakaw fought under the Banchamek banner then he will lose face and can go to jail. Buakaw can always give a part of his purse money to Por Pramuk camp after the fight.
Buakaw is politically doing the right thing, he is still under contract and still represents Por Pramuk in the event. He also gained more attention of the media portraying Por Pramuk gym as scum thug leeches by forcing him to use the Por Pramuk banner. So techinically Pramuk cant go after Buakaw because he is still fighting for them in name, but not in heart.

It shows that in Thailand (though not in all cases) fighters don’t have any rights that protects them from being exploited.

well, looks like as if he won’t go to jail and Mr Pramuk won’t be that happy in the next time:
