It looks like there is light at the end of the tunnel for Buakaw Banchamek. Buakaw and Mr. Pramuk have finally arrived to an agreement.
Buakaw has a new contract; under his new contract he will split earnings 60/40, Buakaw of course taking the majority. They will also split outside earnings 75/25 this includes things like product endorsements and appearances.
Under the new deal Buakaw will still fight under the name Por. Pramuk but will train and live at his new camp.
The contract will be signed at the end of the month, and will take them through to 2017.
I hope this is going to be the end of it, and they can just get on with it. I suspect this isn’t going to be the end of the drama though… I’m hoping that Mr. Pramuk is still interested in making money. Hoping he doesn’t start signing deals on the cheap… just to spite Buakaw.

As for Mr. Pramuk, his drama isn’t over yet. As my Brit friends like to say, Sport Art is pissing in his chips. Yesterday the Sport Art team filed a counter suit for defamation, and are seeking 200 Million baht in damages. The Sport Art people state that this is completely separate to the Buakaw case, and they will proceed with their lawsuit even if Buakaw and Mr. Pramuk reach an agreement.

Ah I forgot to mention… they’ve (boxing commission) also decided to suspend buakaw for 3 months for missing his first mediation meeting.

To 2017? Buakaw will be retired by this time. So in the end both sides get to save face. Buakaw is free from pramuk in physical form, and has a better contract. Pramuk gets to leach off buakaw even though his loyalty is not with them. Pramuk also owns buakaw gym name until 2017 (he will retire by then).
Buakaw is still my hero. Standing up for what he believes.
