I mentioned last week that I was going to begin profiling the upcoming fighters of the Contender Asia 2.  This week I’d like to introduce you to the winner of the European Qualifiers.

It’s also worth noting that it’s officially been anounced that the Contender will begin filming in Malaysian on April 1st.

Artem was one of the first fighters to make it into Season 2 by winning the European qualifiers in Chelyabinsk Russia.  From the pic it appears he’s cracked his opponents head! I was doing a little digging and it and his official record stands at 21 -2 but I read somewhere that he’s had about 115 fights.  If that’s true it means he’s had 94 amateur fights?    I can see that’s he’s been an IFMA champ for 3 years, but can you fight amateur for 90+ fights?

Last time you saw to Artem, he was thrown into the deep end with Yodsanklai.  You can watch the fight here. (it’s worth scrolling down and seeing gusnark’s anitmated gif in the comments)

  1. Its very exciting to know that they will start shooting CA season 2.

But why isn’t Giorgio Petrosyan on the European qualifiers, would love to see the doctor be a part of the season 2.

  2. Weird that most of these qualifiers are way over what the actual show’s contested weight is supposed to be.
