Ground Zero Event – Shoot Boxing Battle
This fight took place on the Oct. 28th, many thanks to WeLoveKamatari for the upload. Souwer has to be one of the most active of the K-1 fighters, seems like every time I turn around this guys fighting someone.
I was pretty surprised by the fight Ologun was giving The Champ. In my mind I don’t have Ologun in the same league as Souwer, maybe they aren’t too far off?

Ologun is learning. As much as it pains everyone the little brother of sterotype race humor is becoming a legitimate fighter. Props to his diligent training.
It’s not a Fairtex project with Jack osbourne, Ologun appears very sincere and serious about his endeavors.
all I have to say is wow.
For Ologun to put up this type of fight
he has my total respect. I am more then impressed.
I mean he almost took sower out.
that is amazing.
It speak volumes .
Ologun is coming along. He is getting better and better, and to score a Knock Down ( I saw 2 but they counted one) on Souwer, does say a lot about this guy’s future. I hope he keeps elevating his skills.
Souwer is still the same machine that we love to see. Those damn combinations of him (Especially that Lead Hook-Cross-Liver shot combo) are just so fluid and amazing.
not to metion ologun seems to have an iron chin. i don’t he has lost by ko yet.
Ologun is coming along very nicely. He took out Kohi very nicely. Also, he may have a bit more power than people give him credit for. Also, he took quite a beating from Buakaw.
Looks like the 2 worlds best has some balancing issue’s, Buakaw vs. Masato ring any bells. I might need some ballerina lessons lol.
Olugun is much improved from his fight wih buakaw. His movement and startegy are getting better. I’m impressed.
Ologun’s brother is dope.
If we changed Olugun to Masato, I believe that the judge would count Souwer until 8 for both knock down. Do you agree?
Jerry, can’t say for sure but probably. On the other hand, that down between Souwer and Masato in 2006 was also controversial. Agree?
Disagreed, you do know that fight happened in Shootboxing right? They put their fighters through hard fights and are as “fair” as can be, but I bet they were shitting themselves as their champ went down twice against the brother of a comedian (no matter how awesome Andy O is, he was discredited because of it). Masato coming over to Shootboxing and scoring two downs in the first round would be quite a blow.
And as Gusnark mentioned the down in 2006 could have been ruled a slip just as easily.
What are the rules in Shootboxing, the same as in K-1?
How long has Andy been training in MT/K-1? I’m assuming not long by your posts.
Andy participate in K-1 from year 2003, where he lost against Kraus. Check: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andy_Souwer
