Malaipet and Paowarit Sasiprapa are originally from Sasiprapa Gym in Bangkok but are currently fighting out of Sasiprapa Gym USA in Fresno, CA. Both fighters have fights scheduled next month. It hasn’t been officially announced by Lion Fight Promotions but Paowarit is supposed to fight New Jersey Muay Thai’s Ognjen Topic at the next Lion Fight Event in March being broadcasted on AXS TV.
Originally Paowarit and Ognjen were supposed to fight in New York at “Friday Night Fights” but the fight was cancelled because Paowarit had injured his knee. Paowarit Sasiprapa is a regular fighter at Channel 7 Stadium in Thailand and originally came to California to replace an injured Rungravee Sasiprapa at the “Muay Thai in America” show last year but the fight was cancelled. Paowarit holds titles from Omnoi Stadium and Rajadamnern. This will be his American Debut.
Malaipet is fighting on March 2nd, 2013 at Pushkick Promotions “Muay Thai World Stand Off” at the Pomona Fairplex in Pomona, CA. Malaipet’s opponent will be Sean Kearney from Iron City Muay Thai in Vancouver. Malaipet also has two amateur fighters fighting on the card from Sasiprapa USA in Fresno, CA 240 lbs. Manuel Sasiprapa (Mancha) and Marquis Sasiprapa.
Malaipet’s last fight at “Lion Fight 8″was an entertaining one. He fought Vishnu Gulati from World Team USA. Vishnu was in a lot of pain when Malaipet checked his low kick in the second round. After that Malaipet just attacked Vishnu’s legs knocking Vishnu Gulati down repeatedly. The referee ended up stopping it in the second round.
In August of last year at the last “Muay Thai World Stand Off” Malaipet agreed to fight Ky Hollenbeck on two days notice. Malaipet was coming in to replace “The Hitman” Aegpracha Meenayothin in the main event at “Muay Thai World Stand Off.” Ky and Malaipet made weight the night before but the fight was cancelled because of a medical test issue and Lerdsila vs Matt Embree became the main event.
