This a good week for fight fans… I just got through watching Kraus and Zambidis, yawn… I used to get a lot more satisfaction out of K-1. Maybe I’m becoming a curmudgeon, or a fight snob. I just prefer to watch Muay Thai. I think most of you agree with me.
Because we’ve had so much K-1 in the past day, I need to balance our diets with some quality Muay Thai. You guys remember a while back I did a post on Wuthidej Lookprhabat. (Woo tee date)He’s the nak muay who won the coveted sports writers fighter of the year award. We’ll here he is squaring about against Sanchai Sor. Kingstar.

Rule Changes at Lumpini

I don’t know if you guys have heard… but a few weeks ago they made some fairly big changes to the clinching in Lumpini.

From what I understand, fighters can continue to grab opponents from the shoulders up. Knee’s have to be scoring knees not just slaps to the opponents thighs. Clinching the waist and “Bear Hugging” will immediately be broken up. Fighters will have 3 second to land scoring knees otherwise they will be broken up. Read more
