Interview with David Pacquette

June 20, 2008 by nopstar · 7 Comments

First things first, many thanks to Dave for taking time out of his training to speak with us.  I contemplated whether or not to redo the interview.  My camera doesn’t have an external mic so the sound is incredibly faint.  I’m looking for new camera as you read this.

I should have known better then to try to do the interview in such a noisy place.I highly recommend that you listen to the interview with headphones, you should be able to work out what David is saying.  He’s rather soft spoken and it’s difficult at times to hear what he’s saying.  I was thinking about transcribing but as you’ll see the interview runs 20+ min.  For those of you who can’t access veoh (gusnark) you can download the interview here.

If any of you are around this weekend, he’ll be fighting Cedric Muller this Sunday evening at York Hall in Bethnal Green.

Thanks guys for all your questions, hopefully next time around I’ll have a new camera (with external mic).

Sean Wright Vs Kozo Takeda

June 1, 2008 by nopstar · 11 Comments

There were some pretty good fights this past week and weekend. I’m going to hold off reporting for a day or so… so I can scrounge up some footage. The big bout last week went down at Big Hearts 8 in Tokyo Japan.

Muay Thai & K-1 vet Kozo Takeda against Contender Asia Semi-finalist Sean Wright. I’m still searching for footage of the fight… It should have been a leg kick throw down as it’s the favored technique of both these fighters. Read more

Soren vs. Sean Contender Asia Finals

April 29, 2008 by nopstar · 8 Comments

Many thanks to our friends at the Contender Asia fans for posting these. My apologies for the 4 parts, but I wasn’t able to get the original dl.

Last but definitely not least, Sean vs. Soren. In my opinion the fight of the night. BTW, how nice was it not to have to listen to those guys? Another random observation… I think Sean has to have the worst Ram Muay… I’m not talking the Haduken. I think that’s pretty cool, but if you watch his ram muay it’s just awful. Once again it confirmed my suspicions about fairtex being left out, when they announced Soren’s full fight name…
