Many thanks to Konnahuk for posting this. This bout was from the latest “Thai Fight” show in Hong Kong last night. The more I watch these fights, the more unclear I become as to the purpose of these fights? I know the organizers of the event have set out to promote Muay Thai across the planet… but surely putting on quality matches is part of the mission.
They televise these events in Thailand… are these match ups for international promotion of Muay Thai or for Thai egos?

I agree.I said the same after the France Show.Surely they want to promote muay thai as an exciting evolving support to a mass, world audience?Maybe they dont? This is defo no the way to do it.I watched most of the other fights and they were all badly mismatched.Defo not going to attract a wider audience thats for sure

Yeah.. The Thai fighters are great, but all the western opponents are not the same level. Badly mismatched indeed, unfortunately. Don’t understand why? And why are they not fighting each other?
Would love to see some new blood as well, there are plenty of unknown Thai fighters around 70 kg that could perform really well with other top level fighters.

according to headkicklegend the guy he faced was an alternate, the original guy was supposed to be someone named Egon Racz?
