Slamm 6 PPV

November 5, 2009 by nopstar

ppvnieuw

Slamm 6 is around the corner.  I’m still trying to sort out my slamm tickets.  The UK postal system is all backed up and there is no way the tickets will get to me in time.

If there are any dutch mmt readers going to the show, if so can you please email me at nopstar at my muay thai dot com?  If you can help me out, I’ll spring for your ticket!

Anyway for those of you who won’t be able to make it to Holland (DiiMak) have no fear they are going to be offering a PPV.

I know… another web PPV?  What are we… 0-2?  Honestly though, I don’t doubt these guys ability to pull it off.  Unlike the “other” show, the slamm guys have got a legit website, and their events rock.

Here’s some info I ganked from their site:

As part of the international growth strategy Slamm!! Events has decided to offer the Slamm!! VI Holland vs. Thailand event taking place on November 29th 2009 live via internet streaming.

There will be two streams available – both streams start an hour in advance enabling the technology to work properly and giving the fans all access to the venue prior to the actual fights starting.

1)FREE preview stream
This stream is for free and is aimed at those not purchasing the actual PPV. The content is the same as the PPV but this stream stops at about 19:00 CET.

2)PPV stream
This stream shows all the professional Muaythai fights and the price is USD 15.00.

Technological requirements, payment and security:

  • Browser: Microsoft ® Internet Explorer ® 7 or higher, Firefox (any version) or Safari (any version) with Silverlight ® (Microsoft’s equivalent of Flash) installed
  • Access to the internet with a bandwidth of AT LEAST 512 kbit/s.
  • Secure payment: iDeal, international credit cards and mobile phone payment
  • The platform is custom built: http://livestream.slamm.nl – you will be redirected to https://secure.qstream.nl to finish the payment and then the site takes you back to the live stream website.
  • A Hotline/Support link will be available on the live stream website!

Best regards,
Slamm!! Events Holland

Only $15? Hmmmm..it’s worth considering–not like the “other” show that charges like Mr. Dana White.

  5. Alpha Disco on November 7th, 2009 1:21 am

Do you guys think these fights will eventually wind up on the internet? If so, I won’t pay for the stream, even if it is only $15.

I think I’m gonna actually pay for this!

    Alpha Disco –

I think its almost guaranteed to be honest virtually nothing is safe from the tyrany that is the W.W.W.!!!I watched the last few events in this manner!

yo alpha disco, it’s attitudes like this that cause most promoters to shy away from muay thai. we have to support the sport monetarily as well as physically for it to grow. sometimes the right thing cost more to do. i know you don’t mean it that way but we have to lead by example. let’s make muay thai as strong as ufc but keep our respect.

This is very true. Im sure these fights will eventually find their way to the internet. But in the future if these fights dont make money for the promoters then they will happen less and less often. It is 15 dollars! To watch some of the best fighters in the world from the comfort of your home…..LIVE. Better yet you then help support the sport and add to the the future of these events!

Hello everyone. I’m new to the site but have been following for quite some time….

I want to know if someone can tell me when this show starts in American time. It’s 18u CET but what is that in American time? 6 oclock?

    Thanks

  12. Frank on November 29th, 2009 3:45 am

First you need to know what time zone you live in.
It will be anywhere from 6-9hrs earlier than ‘american’ time.

  13. Tibun on November 29th, 2009 5:42 am

If you guys aren’t sure, there’s a countdown clock on the stream..

  14. Frank on November 29th, 2009 10:48 am

*sorry – should read – later than ‘american’ time.
