Slamm 5 Results

December 1, 2008 by nopstar

Some pretty big fights yesterday, I can’t still believe immigration hasn’t returned my passport; I was really looking forward to heading to these fights.

I don’t think we’re going to be getting footage for quite sometime.  The only reason I was able to get footage so soon last time was because I took it.  I’ll keep my eyes peeled, and as usual if you guys come across the footage send me an email.

Many thanks to “Payap” from the K-1Fans.com for the photos and many thanks to “LordSinned” for the fight results.

What’s in the case? A belt or poker chips?

I’m actually pretty surprised by the results; I can’t wait to see the footage.

    Yeah, some surprising results.

Did any fights get scratched? I heard some of the guys had a real hard time getting out of Bangkok due to the situation at the airport.

I wonder how they managed to travel?

manant – How did the guys get on in the UK eliminator, who won?

Dammit, Buakaw lost again in a very very controversial decision to Kraus.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQbYYc1T9fs

I can see controversy brewing over this for many years. Even the crowd boo-ed the judges and applauded Buakaw as he left the stadium. This is NOT good for Buakaw’s career.

He needs to start KO-ing some of these fools again. And where are the left middle kicks? What is up with Buakaw anyway? :-(

    A5YF K

A guy from Leeds bad company gtm called Jorda Watson won the 8 man tourney to get in to the house. And he won it very convincingly. His style and timing were absolutly impeccable.Dont know him personally but was told he’d been out of the ring and training for 2 years and then gpot the opportunity to fight for this and so has only been back in training 2 months?Outclassed everyone (in my opinion).

Also some great undercard fights including 2 muaythai against drugs world title fights with Andy Howson vs Super K Sitjaipetch and Maichael dix vs Superboy Sitjaipetch, with both the thais winnning.

Think the whole show is being broadcast on sky this week?

Half the fights on the main event end with medical decision, and with a belt in game? I’m stoked.

Buakaw was robbed, he owned krauss.

  18. Frank on December 1st, 2008 11:59 pm

lol, I think Bovy just wanted to hurt the guy because of his entrance.

  19. mmcmx on December 2nd, 2008 12:59 am

Funny how every website has it’s aristocracy.

    ugh, what a bag.

    that anuwat fight…woah.

One of my friends worked at the event and told me that the Thais arrived at 17:00 on Saturday night (less than 24 hours before the fights). They were supposed to be there Wednesday (just like last year) because of whats going on in Thailand. The Slamm! team did everything they could for them to get there (there it would’ve been… the Netherlands vs. the Netherlands?) and they succeeded… but with some disadvantage to the Thais. Still props to all the fighters.

As to my previous post please excuse my weirdly structured sentences… I am brain drained from finals lol

Finally, this event loaded for me.

Jeez, Bovy is one crazy animal. He really knows how to fight with a fire. Although the cut he caused didn’t look too bad to me…it was around the side (temple) so I’m surprised the doc stopped it (my opinion)

Anuwat’s fight was simply war. I agree with the masses in saying the stoppage here was B.S. too. But either way, both guys fought a crazy hard fight…
This would make a great rematch.

Lamsongkram…man, he looked pissed when they stopped it, but then shook it off and was very classy at the end. But I read that the cut was from a headbutt (http://muaythai.sg/slamm_5).

Honestly, i wouldn’t be surprised…watching the fight I only saw one elbow thrown by Simson and it either missed or hit Lam closer to under the eye; but hey, you can never tell on screen.

Lam and Rayen would be a great rematch though. Both looked game and technical.
