Singhdam vs. Kaew – Wrang Yer Finals

May 22, 2009 by nopstar

Hi guys I hope you’ve had a good week.  It’s been pretty effing hectic on my end. I’m on the road and haven’t been on lately.  That being said, we’ve had a lot of mediocre fights this week.  I wanted to end this week on a high note.  This is the finals of the Wrang Yer Muay Thai Tournament, which took place a few weeks ago.  The fight is between the two of the hardest Nak Muays around Singdam Kiatmoo 9 and Kaew Fairtex.  (you guys at FnF should make sure Neungsiam catches this)

As always big thanks to Gusnark for taking the time to rip and share with the rest of us.  Kind of funny, when I was listening to the fight, I kept thinking the announcers were saying “Ranger”  so I thought this was the Ford “Ranger” tournament.  Turns out, I missed the fact that it was one of a dozen Thai energy drinks “Wrang Yer”.

Great action,  fierce MuayThai… I hope this clip inspires and pushes your training this weekend.  I would be in one of Athen’s many taverna’s stuffing my face, you guys will have to do some extra kicks for me.  Have a great weekend.

Kaew ate too many jabs. I wanted him to win but he never seemed in control of the fight. Tough loss.

Was very surprised to see Kaew getting outworked; props to Singhdam, he really took it to him.

I feel like Singhdam used da clinch to supress Kaew. I dont believe he was outworked though…..It seemed like Singhdam couldnt take Kaews combinations and would jump right into da clinch to buy some time. Awesome fight though! I say Kaew won!

Great fight! Kaew had to really push it to keep up with Singhdam.

Singdam did what he needed to do, he kept his disance and moved in when kaew got to close, it was a great fight from both fighters

agree with Loco..Singhdam was very careful with Kaew’s hands..however, singhdam’s knees are very good..obviously scoring alot more than Kaew’s hands…

For some reason Kaew’s clinch wasn’t there. He looked like a kickboxer with no gameplan in this fight. Rght hook isn’t enough to beat singhdam.

loved singhdam’s lead knees…i think threw kaew off…not enough hands from either…just me or did the crowd seem more geeked than usual (see crowd shot at 6:30 and change)..were those thaksin supporters in the corner with all the red?

great fight! Kaew was aggressive and got control of the ring, but Singdam just timed him with some nice shots. I was actually surprised that Singdam landed some of the punches he did. Good stuff

I thought Kaew won the first two rounds handily dealing damage with his counterattacks. I was really surprised by how Singhdam turned it up on the last three to take it; love the long knee strike he landed on the third or fourth. I liked Kaew’s punch / kick combos, but like someone else has already mentioned, his clinch game didn’t seem to be on. Anyway, great fight, thanks for the post…

After watching all those K-1 fights, this really brought home the significant difference the clinch game adds to Muay Thai…
