This was a bout I had been looking forward to.  Singdam, the 2x fighter of the year vs. the young upstart Yodvicha.   in the blue shorts is an exceptional nak muay, represents the new generation of fighters that our coming up.  He’s only 16 years of age and is knocking off top nak muay one by one.  I’m not sure who the youngest Lumpini or Rajadomnern champ in history is, but I’m willing to bet that has a good chance at it.

As always, many thanks to ChampboxingMagazine for the HD upload!

  1. the match of my dreams is Yodvicha vs Wanchalerm

    • Yodvicha vs Wanchalerm would make a great match up but I think it would be a clear win for Yodvicha…

  2. Sangmanee Sor Tienpo racked up titles at Lumpini and Rajadamnern last year all while being 15 years old. His first title I think he won just barely after turning 15.

16 year old champs at Lumpini/Raja/Thailand aren’t really all that uncommon. Sathanmuanglek Windysport just beat Niwlukrak Eksindeekongym for mini flyweight title of Thailand and Im pretty sure he’s not much more than 15 or 16.

But yeah, doing it this young at a bigger weight class stacked with great fighters is pretty damn impressive.

  3. yodvichas style is so boring…..clinch allday no stand out skills, just clinching. smh, id like to see him fight internationally even under full rules. i dont think he would do well.

  4. To be honest I don’t know what all the fuss is about. I mean he is young and a strong kid but he is not well rounded and clinches for practically the whole fight! I was more impressed with Thelek when he first came out because he fought like a fearless bull! It gets very boring after a while watching a fighter like Yodvicha and there are plenty of young, up and coming fighters out there that I think are better then Yodvicha but will not achieve as much as he will because as most of you probably know in Thailand sometimes its not about if your a better well rounded fighter, its about having the right fight game. You get a fighter like petchboonchu who is a great fighter but does hardly anything till the 3rd and 4th round smothering his opponent with knees in the clinch which sometimes if you want me to be honest doesn’t even look like there hurting his opponents but it produces the points kind of like a boxer working his jabs for most of the fight. The average fight fan with common sense wouldn’t understand why a fighter would win with the kind of fight plan and it took me a while to understand and now when I watch a fight like that I can understand and explain why a fighter would win but just because I understand doesn’t necessarily mean I agree with it. I just respect that that’s how they do things out there. And its nothing to do with the fact that I dislike the clinch because I am fascinated with clinching and love to watch a fighter like Pokaew Fonjarngchonburi dominate someone with his freakish strength and bone crushing knees because he actually fights like he is going to war and puts everything in to his shots!

    • This is what the fuss is about. His last four fights are W Kongsak, W Nong-O in a 1 sided fight that was almost stopped, W Petboonchu in which he had to weigh 3 pounds less than Petboonchu, and now a win over Singdam. You go 4-0 in 4 straight fights with those guys and you should be getting A LOT of attention.

And he is not 1 dimensional, it’s just he’s better than everyone in the clinch. His knees have improved so much over the last year. He used to be a big grabber and not great with knees, now he’s blowing great fighters out with knees. Prior to being this clinch demon he about beheaded Chatchai Gardenseaview with an elbow and than knocked out a very good fighter Yodthongthai Por Telakun with an elbow. He had a nice back and forth kicking match with Luknimit Singklongsi as well.

      • I’m not denying the fact that he’s a good fighter because he is a great fighter but I have seen many fighters like him come and go. I was much more impressed with Kongsak when he jumped on to the scene with his long streak of wins. I actually think Petpanomrung is a much better fighter even thou he hasn’t achieved as much. I don’t look at a fighters wins, I look at how the fighter actually fights because I don’t always agree with the judges.
