Sancturary of Truth, Pattaya

April 24, 2007 by nopstar

When I was living in Bangkok, I would occasionally head down to Pattaya for the weekend. I haven’t been for ages… last I looked there were about 4 of 5 camps in the vicinity. Next time you’re down there, and you have a day off from training may I suggest a little side trip?

On his last trip, my buddy stumbled across this place called the “Sanctuary of Truth” I’ve never been, but he swears that it’s one of the coolest places he’s ever been? You can check out the rest of his set here.
Out of curiosity, have any of you guys been to Thailand? How often do you go? I’m going to be heading there this Friday, hopefully I’ll get a chance to take in a fight and get some training in.

I have been to Thailand only once but I damn sure would love to go again. I stayed in Pattaya, didn’t hear about this place though.

I’ll say, Pattaya can be a hard place to train seriously, Walking Street just seems to be calling every night. Yeah, was hard to keep up THAT amount of training with THAT amount of drinking.

I’m currently in Dalian, China, missing FnF, and hoping that while I’m in Asia I’ll be able to swing by Thailand for a bit of training.

Currently signed up at a Wushu place training in Sanda(= Sanshou), they make you snap the kicks and there’s a huge emphasis on flexibility. So it’s quite a change, I don’t like the snapping of kicks, but it can’t hurt.

Cool looking place, this Santuary of Truth. I’ve been there, but only around Bangkok and the surrounding cities. I wouldn’t mind going again.

YOo…that place looks amazing. I’m planning a trip out to Thailand next year. I see they’re still in the building process, but it already looks amazing. I couldn’t help but notice the sign in one of his pix…..It was written in english, am I missing something. Is this place being built for cultural/religious reasons or for tourism??

    Mike,

If you go to Bangkok make sure you get the info here for Ingram Gym. It is really easy to get to and right in the heart of Bangkok.

I am heading to BKK this week as well and really hope to make it to Ingram. I agree, it is tough when you are on holiday, drinking, staying out late and all that.
