I saw a decent amount of promotion online for this event.  Judging by the vid though the place looks empty!

Sanchai has to be loving life, he gets to travel, put on a show, get treated like a super star and get paid.  I’ve seen him fight a handful of times, each of the fights  have been outside of Thailand.  To be honest they haven’t really been fights.   You’ve seen it, he goes out there does his shuffle a cartwheel kick and everyone has a good laugh.  Most of his fights as of late resemble exhibitions.

I sort of feel like the fighters who get in the ring with Sanchai are looking to have a good sparring session with him.  I don’t feel like any of them are really expecting or even looking to win.  I had a chance to speak with him after one of his fights and he mentioned that he “didn’t want to hurt” the other fighter.

Yetkin clearly didn’t get the memo…  Clearly he’s never seen the Harlem Globetrotters in action. Apparently Yetkin came to fight.  This Sanchai differs to most of the fights I’ve seen in that, Sanchai’s demeanor changes after he get’s caught with that kick.  The only other time I’ve seen Sanchai KO someone was that footage from LA.  I think he’s happy to put on a show, but if you want to fight, then he’s gonna fight.

  1. mt isn’t that popular in germany (most people expect some kickbox brawling), even the german k1 europsort commentator sucks when they are showing slamm or something.
well yetkin did better than the japanese dude, but after his fancy kick I started counting the seconds : )

  2. I definately agree that if you come to fight he will kick your ASS !!!
Yetkin looked like he was really pissed that he got KO’d that made me chuckle does any one know how many fight Yetkin has had and what did he pass before the fight ??
Im out in BKK training at 13 coins and I was watchin Saenchai holding the pads for his son today hes going to be a kick ass fighter just like his dad they were working on all the tricks.
Saenchai is probably the nicest guy you could get KO’d by.

  3. yetkin is a doucher. lol @ ko.

  4. I’m sure none fighter facing Saenchai is going for sparring… That’s only visual interpretation.
But actually Saenchai makes them looks like beginner because of his skills.
Even Khem when he got KO’d looked bad, and he is very good fighter.

Respect to Yetkin anyway because he was going for it, taking risks.(many low kick in the shin… brr)
Saenchai is very strong for counter so attacking a lot is not a good solution, the only way to beat him is clinch (as Orono did).

By the way, i heard he’s fighting in Lumpinee on May 5th…

  5. Rule #1: Do not piss off, or insult somebody who is loads better than you. At best you will be knocked out; worst they will destroy your body for 5 rounds just for fun.

  6. Thanks for the post. What’s funny to me is that he looked disappointed when the ref didn’t raise his hands when the announced the winner; like he was thinking to himself, “I can’t believe I got KO’d” LOLZ!

More importantly, those were some sweet shorts Saenchai was rocking, I want a pair!

  7. This was the mean version of Sanchai- badass!

  8. on the 5th of may he is fighting at ratchadamnern vs NongO Sit O

  9. respect to Yetkin for catching Sanchai with some of those shots. He may have payed for it dearly but he got in the ring and fought…that’s enough for me.

  10. For being a such a short man, It always Amazes me how much distance Sanchai’s gets on his push kicks. He makes Muay Thai look so easy.Im glad I got a chance to see him fight live.

  11. well, someone should have sent this kid the memo as well:

wtf? lol. what’s wrong with this kid? saenchai should have ko’d him.

  12. I have my own encoded version this on my youtube site. And I was just watching this.

ForJake: I am noticing a pattern here with you bashing both Pinca and now Yetkin.

For a ‘doucher’ he sure has fought a lot more and a lot better competition than you have in your 5 fight career. Don’t get me wrong I am in favor of having an opinion and an educated one at that but you don’t seem capable of much but name calling. Now since you are a fighter and possess the ever so worthy USMTA my state only title I am sure you could beat both Yetkin and Pinca with a leg tied behind your back but would it kill you to show a little respect?

  13. everybody, fighter or not, as a fan has a right to an opinion. this is why we are individuals. im sure jake has a universal respect for fighters like all of us who have trained. but im gonna have to agree that both pinca and yetkin are douchers. maybe even douche pickles. but i think pinca is the bigger douche wagon by a huge margin. and quite frankly stacks your support of said douche bagels is very concerning.

    yours truly,

    SE

  14. I’ll be sure to lose sleep over what your comprehensive knowledge of douches is and who I support.

  15. jeez stack, need a hug man?

thank you for attempting to cut me down completely which actually…cutting people down…isn’t that what you’re coming at me with? eh, whatever.

do i think that pinca or yetkin are douchers because of their training, fight style or competition? nope. i suppose you would know that though as you see everything atop your mighty throne of unbiased opinion making and general respect towards all who fight. i DO however think yetkin is a doucher attitude-wise. the taunting and what have you? great to sell tickets and everything but this is not football or MMA. does someone like that not rub YOU the wrong way even the slightest, Stack? i feel like being in the ring with someone like saenchai might humble ya a little and make you more concentrated on not getting cartwheeled kicked in the face than slapping yourself and waving your arms around.

to be honest, i don’t remember why i called pinca a doucher and i’m not about to go looking for it either. you did seem to remember me calling pinca a doucher but im not sure if you remember me singing his praises either on almost every one of his fights posted on here. people tend to focus only on the negative i suppose – go figure.

either way, if i ever meet you mr. grumpy mcstacks – im gonna hug you. im gonna hug you real good. you just might like it.

  16. you should be losing sleep of your lack of a sense of humor and the fact that you attacked someones fighting record/history as if he needed a superior one to make a joke about a fighters personality. are u serious?

    do u need some kleenex?

if you just wanted to express your hate for the USMTA title you should have been upfront about it. or maybe youre jelly. hahaha

  17. Not attacking you at all Jake or SE. But perspective and objectivity are most useful in forming an opinion wouldn’t you agree? Anyone who gets in the ring deserves a modicum of respect. And yes Jake that includes you who I also respect as you critique on your mighty USMTA state only belt. Don’t get it twisted that’s a laudable achievement. And I might hug you back Jake.

And SE you know you’re my boy and I’ve backed you right on this site without equivocation. I’m all about forming opinions but one-line pretty much mindless zingers are pointless. There’s a lot of dislike I have expressed here and likely will continue to and I may fail at it but I try to do with some perspective.

As far as attitude that to me is pretty subjective. Pinca I asked him directly what happened in his fight against Bovy so I’m not by any means playing favorites. Consider this for a second: if you’re fighting someone on the level of Saenchai or Bovy you’d better believe in yourself right? Otherwise why take that fight at all if you think you;’re just going to get a loss automatically.

Now by no means do I justify what you may regard as disrespect on their parts but had you been in the ring against either wouldn’t you fight like you were good enough or not intimidated by them?

  18. yes stack i agree that your own confidence is needed. you are 100% right. it was fun calling yetkin a doucher…. i have to give it to yetkin even though he showboated a tad bit, cus he would still touch gloves and hug between rounds, UNLIKE pinca. who not only commonly refuses to touch gloves and be polite between rounds but always looks visibly irritated like he is 14 yrs old and this is his first tournament. i try to welcome ANY humor on MMT and encourage it.

  19. No worries bro. Apologies to both you and Jake if you felt like I was attacking you. I honestly am not.

  20. i feel like i do contribute SOME constructive criticism – while i may not be swinging 10 professionally ranked championship belts from my dick, i still have put much time and effort into this art that i do love and have sacrificed plenty for even if only 13 fights and a “mighty state only amateur belt” to show for. everyone starts somewhere! alas perspective is important stack, you are right.

i appreciate the dynamic of this board, i really do. this argument…err…discussion further reminds me.

for record, SE’s mindless zingers do balance out this site’s rather positive demeanor. i know everyone has laughed at LEAST once at the offhand, rude and downright mean shit he says, haha.

  21. Now now girls calm down LOL !!!
Yeah cant wait to go see Saenchai vs Nong O at Raja on the 5th hopefully the red shirts wont be protesting around there then otherwise I will be staying clear ! I was at Silom taking some photos the day before they started shooting grenades at innocent people I hope that Thailand doesnt have a civil war otherwise no farangs will be able to train here for a while.

  22. where are you living right now dannyboyse5? how rampant is the violence and protesting?

  23. dannyboyse5

Sanchai on the 5th! I’ll be around that night. I’m definitely going… if you see gimme a shout

  24. Great fight, I always enjoy watching Saenchai fight, , very fluid and skillful!

@Jake Bangkok is tense at the moment and has been for a few weeks, a few days ago the red shirts set up barricades using sharpened bamboo sticks and tires. Prior to the explosions last night in the Silom area the protests have been somewhat peaceful besides the previous clashes. The red shirts have permanently occupied certain areas setting up road blocks especially at the Ratchaprasong area resulting in the closure of two of the largest shopping centers: Siam Paragon and Central World.

For the past few days there has been a permanent police presence in the Silom area as well as soldiers occupying the area. The BTS Silom line was also closed last night after the attacks as well as the MRT in the direction of Sala Daeng (Silom). I had to take a taxi back to my apartment and saw many police on motorcycles with shotguns heading into the Silom area. So far, I’ve heard that there has been 1 death and 78 people injured from the attacks in Silom last night. The situation is tense and the USA has issued warnings not to visit Bangkok.

  25. Yetkin just didn’t realise he was up with a master until tat kick to his head…

  26. I agree with you czh25,
at first I was positively surprised by yetkin, that he actually came to fight and not just to survive.
but when he showed his taunting moves it became quite obvious that he forgot to do his homework.

  27. GlegSorPrauaSua has explained the situation here better than I could !
I am staying in Suang Luang which is pretty close to the airport and 13 coins gym so its pretty far from the protests and has no BTS so its safe enough around here although I dont wear red shirts which is a pain in the ass as half my wardrobe is red !
When the bombs were fired it was when anti red shirt protesters were in Silom and heading towards where the red shirts have been camped for the last 2 weeks it seems strange that people that are protesting for the countrys “democracy” would fire grenades at their own countrymen if it keeps happening then there could be some real trouble here.
Nop look out for the 13 coins gym t shirts hope to hook up with you atr Raja !

  28. GlegSorChaoPhraya sorry mate just got back from a run my brains pretty cooked from the sun spelt your name wrong !!

  29. dannyboyse5 – no worries ;-)

I’m situated very close to Silom road and yesterday the BTS Silom line was partially operational. Walking to Lumpini MRT I saw that most roads leading to Silom had either police or army road blocks set up. Looks like ther will be a clash sometime:

“Anti-government protesters in Bangkok are bracing themselves for a violent confrontation with the security forces after the Thai prime minister pledged to remove barricades they’d set up in the heart of the capital.

The atmosphere in the city is said to be extremely tense, with leaders of the “red-shirt” demonstrators saying they expect a showdown with the army. Troop movements took place overnight, and extra police have been brought into the capital.”

  30. GlegSorChaoPhraya are you training if so where you @ ?

  31. O my o my, you don’t want to be aggressive and having the attitude “show me what you got” against Seanchai. But you have to give props to the guy, he was motivated and he was there to fight, this wasn’t just some guy who wants to brawl with a gangsta attitude, he showed a respect to the man at the end. When Saenchai switched to punches it was all over. Nonetheless, Yetkin looks like a solid fighter.

  32. dannyboyse5: I was training at mostly Jitti Gym and had a few sessions at Fighting Spirit in March. Not sure where I’ll be this week, depends on transport/riots ;-) but I’ll probably be back at Jitti Gym. How are you enjoying the training at 13 Coins?

  33. Yeah its all good there are alot of poeple training there at the moment so the atmosphere is really good !
Is liam harrison training @ Jittis at the moment ?

  34. Yeah Liam is there as well as Andy Thrasher, both preparing for upcoming fights. I haven’t been to Jitti’s for a few days though due to protests, I’m keeping a low profile. There were some clashes today and one soldier was shot in the head, he passed away :(
