Sanchai vs. Wuttidej

July 9, 2008 by nopstar

This a good week for fight fans…  I just got through watching Kraus and Zambidis, yawn…  I used to get a lot more satisfaction out of K-1.  Maybe I’m becoming a curmudgeon, or a fight snob.  I just prefer to watch Muay Thai.  I think most of you agree with me.

Because we’ve had so much K-1 in the past day, I need to balance our diets with some quality Muay Thai.  You guys remember a while back I did a post on Wuthidej Lookprhabat.  (Woo tee date)He’s the nak muay who won the coveted sports writers fighter of the year award.  We’ll here he is squaring about against Sanchai Sor. Kingstar.

For those of you who don’t have access to veoh you can also download the fight here. Props to Pac4life for sending this our way.  I’m loving Wutthidej in the clinch, I’d have to say that if someone covered my nose and mouth in the clinch I would probably lose my shit.  I don’t know if that’s something you can pull when your sparring… it’s almost like a teep to the face.I

Don’t know if others are having megaupload issues but the file link is only 7mb. I snagged this link from K-1Fans but the extension is flv for those who have the appropriate player

The K-1 fights are great. Only downfall of fights from thailand are everyone fights exactly the same. Variety gives it a little spice.

I use do that (because others did it to me) cover the mouth and face when knee sparring.

Thanks for posting all these figths this week especially this one.Im becoming addicted to this site!!

Im a right bugger for covering peoples faces when sparring now you’ve mentioned its a bit out of order I think I might stop!

Im not sure if anyones made you aware of this Nop, I imagine its probbly old news to you but il mention it anyway. If you got access to Sky television on channel 208 which is called “Pulse” there is Muay Thai from Thailand on everyday 5pm and repeated 11pm.They sometimes repeat the same show but iv seen some good fights this week.Sorry if this is old news.

    manant-

Cheers, thanks for being apart of our muay thai posse.

Muay Thai on Sky! Yet another reason why I hate virgin… my building won’t allow for a dish, so for the time being I’m shit out of luck. I’ll see if I can’t befriend someone with Sky!

    Thanks,

Sorry if this is a dumb question but was this for Saenchai’s title? If so….maybe I’m frustrated, but is he ever going to take a fight seriously? Anyways Wuthidej looked good and wanting to press the action the whole fight.

whoa, excellent fight. Good to see Saenchai had to resort to orthodox tactics against somebody on par.

I could watch Sanchai all day :)

Anyone got a hoard of Sanchai fights hidden somewhere online?

  11. LorKoteKote on July 11th, 2008 4:05 am

Agreed, Only reason I watch K-1 is for Buakaw. It is so untrue to muay thai, No clinching!?! Barely any elbows and knees. UGH!! it’s like san shou or something.pao lao. Saenchai is a beast. This post was a pleasent suprise.

the reason to cover up your opponent mouth by your gloves is to make him harder to breathe. at first i didn’t know it could be really bad until my trainer showed me, especially he gave me a push to my head and gloves on my nose and mouth once i was in the corner. i almost pass out. don’t think it’s a good idea to do when sparring.

    Thanx pac!
That was one hell of a fight. Great post!
Second and third round goes to Wuthidej, no doubt about that. Great in clinch, his elbows and knees are scary. But damn, Saenchai is one sneaky fox. Very even fight, to me Saenchai was a little better.

covering nose and mouth… “it’s almost like a teep to the face” hahaha, exactly!

Ohhh man! Great event in September!
It’s time for Kaew to climb the ranks; very much looking forward to his fight with Nong O.
Also big supporter of Saenchainoi Toyato Rayong

Thanks Pac for the update; any idea if this is a rematch for a lumpini title?
