Sanchai vs. Petchboonchu

March 26, 2009 by nopstar

Came across this on muaymag.com today.  If any of you are in Thailand or in Singapore you’ve got a little over a week to book your ticket and clear your schedule.  The Dr. is figting Petchboonchu on April 3.  Apparently I was speaking out of my ass when I said Jomthong and Petchboonchu were fighting for the Sports Writers of Thailand “Fighter of the Year” title… these two are fighting for bragging rights.  I had no idea, but apparently Petchboonchu has held 6 stadium belts!  That’s a lot of bling.

The match of the two fighters, scheduled on Friday April 3 at Lumpini Stadium by promoter Nattadech Wachiraratanawong, is seen as a decisive event to determine whether Saenchai or Petchboonchu will win the association’s Best Fighter Award as both fighters currently have equally impressive fighting records.

Saenchai already swept four different best fighter awards in 2008, but Petchboonchu has held six muaythai champion belts and recently defeated two of the country’s top fighters, Wutthidet Lukprabaht and Chomthong Chuwattana….

Saenchai, however, may face a slight disadvantage as his usual weight class is 2.5 pounds lower than that of Petchboonchu. “

2.5 pounds?  My money is on Sanchai… but then again I’m a bit of a nuthugger.

I’m very impressed by Petchboonchu, how easly he launch straight knees from the clinch. He really keeps the clinch exciting and fluid.

Nonetheless, Saenchai style is priceless, beatiful techinique.

And Saenchai needs this win, after his loss to Orono.

I don’t think his loss to Orono was a big deal….I just look at it like…he needs this win if he wants to get the fighter of the year award…..lol.
    GO SEANCHAI !!!!….oh…and I’m a Seanchai nut-embracer too. :-)

I don’t think it was big deal either. Orono is bigger and good. Saenchai should still be fighter of the year imo.
