Props to Doug for the heads up! You nakmuay’s in Socal Cali are in for a treat. Sanchai is coming to town! I know it’s a trek for you guys in SF/Oak but it’s the doctor himself… for those of you who never seen him in action now’s your chance. I can’t imagine he’s going to be coming through California with any great regularity so clear you calendars and get out there.
Props to thefighgame.tv for posting this…
Anyone from the Bay going to represent?

Not sure how many of the regulars on here are from Cali but it would be nice to grab some beers at the fights..
January 21, 2010 at 9:50 pm
thats 40 mins away. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES. FUCK YES.
kru rex gonna be there too. so i can holla at him too. bryan dobler has his own gym in fontana. its very traditional he even used to come to smokers and do krabi kabong demos. wondering how he will do.
January 21, 2010 at 9:51 pm
im gonna cheer SO hard for sanchai and kaoklai. sanchai is arguably the best lb for lb but kaoklai is one of the tuffest nak muays i have seen. hes a gangster. when he KO’ed mighty mo that kinda defined muay thai for me.
January 22, 2010 at 12:11 am
Im down to grab some beers
January 22, 2010 at 1:05 am
Dont really know about saenchai’s opponent.
But Magnum Sakai is a nice guy, he used to be a decent fighter and took on some good challenge out of japan. He fought in S1 in thailand, faced mister Carnage (it was a carnage btw), recently fought Taei Kin in rise.
Wish i could see this event
January 22, 2010 at 1:13 am
im down to show people the man behind the asshole posts. hahaha
January 22, 2010 at 1:21 am

January 22, 2010 at 2:10 am
Fuck yes I am going to this!
January 22, 2010 at 5:15 am
I cant wait for this show! this is going to be great, its been a while since so cal gets a chance to see top thai fighters at there best. Tetsuya Yamato is one of the top japanese fighters right now! he is currently ranked 14th for the wbc muay thai and is the wmc world champion! he koed Kansaek last year here in so cal. Saenchai will be moving up in weight for this fight. check out Muaythaiassociationofamerica.com for more info!
January 22, 2010 at 5:32 am
haha no more gay ass dennis warner?
January 22, 2010 at 8:28 am
Dats what Im talking about! This is gunna be a good fight. Im there!
January 22, 2010 at 9:49 am
This is definitely going to be a mind-blowing event. I will cover the photography, and if you can’t make it there on March 14th, be sure to bookmark http://www.imuaythai.com/forums/showthread.php?t=80 for results and photos.
January 22, 2010 at 10:46 am
Chris 13 and Dave Huerta – Thanks for the info guys, is there any fights of these 2 guys available on the net anywhere to watch do you know?Even with just this much knowledge on them I would still (respectfully) suggest Saenchai and Koaklai to win in any way they choose!!
January 22, 2010 at 5:43 pm
Manant-
“Even with just this much knowledge on them I would still (respectfully) suggest Saenchai and Koaklai to win in any way they choose!!”
If Magnum has good hands Kaoklai is going to sleep. I’ve never seen another nakmuay who get’s caught as much… and still continues to fight with his hands down at his waist.
January 22, 2010 at 11:36 pm
Funny you should say that Nop, youtubed that magnum guy and he does seem very boxy and hes big Not very tidy from what little I saw but powerful and pretty robust and in the fights I watched he looked very keen on winning?!!So you never know?
January 23, 2010 at 1:49 am
theres no way in hell kaoklai is losing to a japanese fool in so cal.
NOT. GONE. HAPPEN.
January 23, 2010 at 2:27 am
magnum sakai is a really tough opponent and has a good chance of beating kaoklai. he is naturally bigger and has fought full rules many times. you can see some of his fights on dailymotion.com check out his fight against Nathan “carnage”Corbett and you will be able to see how much heart this guy has. Nathan is one of the best in that weight class and has beat both kaoklai and magnum. saenchai is also going to have a tough fight but i think he should be able to win with all his experience and slickness.
January 23, 2010 at 3:12 am
ive been hearing about this for some time now. im glad to see it finally happen. MT is going to be blowing up in socal soon. all the promoters have come outta the wordworks to split the dennis warner promotions “monopoly”. i am a student under Kru Bryan Dobler and Kru Rex. SE where do you train at?
January 23, 2010 at 4:46 am
im also excited to see bryan dobler fight against shane! i havent had a chance to see bryan fight live but ive seen some of his past fights.
January 23, 2010 at 7:25 am
SE yeahhh Rex will for sure be there. I was talking to him about these fights the other day. He now teaches at Brian dobblers gym if you didnt know.
Man, wish i was going to this. I still havent gotten to watch Saenchai in person.
January 23, 2010 at 8:23 am
Sanchai is one of my favorite Muay Thai fighter today
January 23, 2010 at 10:44 am
Fairplay anyone has a punchers chance agaisnt Koaklai but I promise (Il eat my hat if this is untrue)I very much doubt Saenchai will have a hard fight with his guy.Saenchai rarely has a hard fight!!
The fight will go as follows, Saenchai from round 1 saenchai will dance around doing all kinds of fancy shit and at the same time throw some frightening shots at a weirdly blistering pace that even though hes playing still hurt his opponant. He will also off balance Yamoto and thorw him around in multiple different ways.Either his opponant will be able to take this for 5 rounds or at some point he’l get hurt and not want to carry on.If hes as tough as is thought saenchi will just mess around putting on a great demonstration of fancy classical MT techniques and eke out an easy points victory to ensure people think hes stil beatable but look amazing, classy and gentlemanly enough to make promotors want to have him back!!!
Still, amazing too watch
January 23, 2010 at 2:23 pm
“im down to show people the man behind the asshole posts” lol
January 23, 2010 at 9:30 pm
i used to train with kru rex when he was in van nuys.
January 24, 2010 at 9:59 pm
yeah i did too. now im still with kru neil at the new place and go visit Rex to get chicken wings haha.
January 25, 2010 at 3:24 am
yo ryan, how did you feel about the vibe there? i was cool to everyone i met. there were crazy egos there and a lot of ‘im letting you know youre in my house’ sparring sessions. like the more old school students had some sort of resentment from the newer ones. the sparring there was so wild and mostly never supervised, lmao. i met a lot of cool people ther e too though. ive also watched some crazy battles when kru rex just said ‘play around’. a lot of people dont know the meaning of ‘play around’ in that gym.
January 25, 2010 at 7:40 am
I loved that gym, it had its moments, and had its certain people i didnt mind not being about. But, during my time there i felt like the people with the egos or attitude ended up not staying due to not being able to hang. I loved training with Kru Rex, Hes become like a father figure after the last years of knowing him.
January 25, 2010 at 10:11 am
Interesting thoughts on these fights. I have to add, I just saw Kaoklai fight some tall lanky german dude at Thailand vs. Challenger…
Kaoklai.. gotta love him.. was actually toying with the dude and showing some personality in the ring.. Kept smiling at the guy.. kind of a piss take.
Here’s the thing.. round 3.. hands dropping.. and pretty much gassed. Rounds 4 and 5 not so hot. He still won, but just no gas in the later rounds. Ya gotta wonder how hard he trains any more.
Don’t get me wrong, he is good, and entertaining. I am a fan. But if anyone has good hands and brings it hard for 5 rounds.. Yikes.
January 25, 2010 at 6:50 pm
rex is for sure like a father figure. i love training with him and just hangin at the gym to talk MT. his fighting fish are awesome too lol

Various fields of life utilize lots of time, therefore why should we waste life time for business term paper creating? That’s better to utilize some experienced essay writing service to purchase the persuasive term paper from, I think.

March 15, 2010 at 8:20 am
and to david huerta, nice fight congrats on the belt
March 15, 2010 at 10:01 am
after kaoklai broke dudes face i went up to him by the ring, got his attention and gave him a thumbs up. he wai’d back. shit was so dope. he is a super quiet guy outside the ring. it seemed that hanging out with saenchai might have rubbed on kaoklai cus i saw him do the ‘saenchai shuffle’ a bit with his feet. this fight night was amazing. coke was there. saw malaipet there …. he is fighting in santa monica in april.
is there an easier way to email pics rather than attaching each one?
March 15, 2010 at 5:10 pm
anyone got footage of Kaoklai fight?thanks
March 15, 2010 at 6:12 pm

March 15, 2010 at 8:55 pm
If I’m not mistaken I believe that the result for fight 9 was Bounthong Syvanthong winning by split decision against Prudencio Portillo.
I agree that it was a great event highlighted by Saenchai and Kaoklai but the other fights were also pretty exciting with good technique. It was nice to see an absence of windmilling punching. I was a little confused by two of the fights where one opponent had to wear headgear while the other didn’t. It seemed like an unfair advantage. Well done MTAA.
March 15, 2010 at 9:11 pm
I think some of the rules were.. If you had 3 bouts or less, you wear headgear…
not sure.
March 15, 2010 at 11:46 pm
I believe the head gear is optional among amateurs in California. I never used the helmet because I think it’s actually dangerous and tends to cause tunnel vision. Good job by MTAA.
March 16, 2010 at 1:56 am
What A night! Great Fight Card.Saenchai was incredible.Felt sorry for the Japanese punching bags they put in the ring, but they both showed a Ton of heart. The Womans fight was exciting as well.
March 16, 2010 at 4:34 am
hell yea i think the ladies should have got fight of the night. 5 rounds toe to toe. flying knees flying kicks minor flashing episode lol. the girls showed it all. plus kristin brought another belt home to our gym :)
March 16, 2010 at 10:52 am
yeah i remember the strip teep in the womans fight.
also worth noting saenchai came out to ice ice baby and kaoklai came out to house of pain. TALK ABOUT AWESOME. hahahaha
March 16, 2010 at 12:27 pm
many thanks to SE for sending along pics from the weigh ins and fights. One of my favorite pics was this one… for those of you who know your Nak Muay’s that is MuayThai legend Jongsanan wrapping Sanchai’s hands. So cool on so many different levels…
March 16, 2010 at 12:35 pm
Nop….Since it has been mentioned in this post, Santa Monica in April sounds like the place to be. Neungsiam is supposed to fight Nat McIntyre. Nat is a good fighter from Mpls. You may have had a chance to meet him…he was at Bunkerd’s fight in NY (the best under-promoted and under-attended card in the last decade..LOL) Anybody have the fight card, yet?
March 16, 2010 at 12:38 pm
JJ49-
There is a post on this in a few days… yes I did meet him in NYC, how did you know that?
March 16, 2010 at 3:46 pm
hahahah actually when Saenchai was getting his hands wrapped.. Me and a couple of friends spoke thai, and pulled him, kaoklai, and jongsanan to the side to get a picture…
It was funny as hell.
March 16, 2010 at 9:52 pm
This is the entrance that Saenchai had that night…

Nop
it’s too bad it doesn’t show in that photo, but in the next seats over was Bunkerd and Kongnapa, so it was a truly epic amount of muaythai talent, past and present, all seated together
