Look who’s coming to the big screen! Damn he actually looks good with a tache! Thanks to Gusnark for sending this along.
It appears to that they’ve made a move about Yamada Nagamasa, the Samurai of Ayuddhya. Ayuddhya is the ancient capital of Siam. If you ever make it to Thailand, I highly recommend you take a day trip to Ayuddhya. If you’ve got a little more time take the train to Sukhothai.
Ayuddhya in the late 1500′s and early 1600′s had a thriving foreign population. There were Chinese, Portuguese, French, Japanese, and Dutch as many as 40 different ethnic groups. The Japanese who had come to settle in Ayuddhya were there either because they were escaping religious persecution (catholic) or were Ronin (masterless Samurai).

In the early 1600′s the Thai King Prasat Thong, had employed up to eighty Samurai as his mercenaries. These mercenaries played key roles in the struggle for power and succession.
Based on this short clip I doubt that they’ll be much historical accuracy. It looks to me that their more interested in promoting this as an action flick.

Anyway, I’m glad Nong Sombat is making moves… I’d be lying if I didn’t say I wasn’t looking forward to him cracking some skulls in this upcoming max. Hopefully this movie will open up more opportunities for him. Maybe there is life after Max.
I’m hoping Buakaw’s big screen debut won’t be as laughable and Masato’s!

Holy shitake, I would never had recognized him. he went from boyish to a mustached baboo
March 10, 2009 at 5:44 pm
Yeah i had no idea it was him till you said something…
:O maybe we’ll see a Tony Jaa/Buakaw showdown someday lol

It took me sometime too to recognize him. The Por Pramuk Gym titles tip him off… but I never expected Buakaw Chicano Style.

Hoping this movie involves Buakaw, the Legendary Samurai of Ayutthya, defending Ayutthya against the an evil invader named Yodsaenklai ; )
Jokes aside, this movie sounds pretty interesting

Thanks for posting the link to film Shamo with Masato in it. Never saw that, although looks cheap, too much of drama – well it’s made for teens.

That was the best comment. Buakaw is the new Thai Charles Bronson. OMG. Awesome. Hahahhahaha
March 11, 2009 at 11:46 am
Oh.. I also just got back from Ayuttaya. 2nd time there. Awesome place.
March 11, 2009 at 3:45 pm
oh yeah. looks like a total stachehole.
March 11, 2009 at 5:46 pm
You have to suspend quite bit of disbelief to pass Buakaw off as anything remotely Japanese looking.
March 11, 2009 at 6:12 pm
He’s not playing Japanese…. that tache, and hairdo was the traditional Thai look back in the day. Yamada was a mercernary and I’m sure he fought closely with the Thais.
I’m sure Buakaw is going to play quiet tough guy no.2
If I could grow a moustache like that I would try to bring it back!
March 11, 2009 at 6:13 pm
Oh ok got it.
The moustache looks remarkably natural on him actually.

3:52 I think Buakaw is the one nealing to the left (next to Yamada)
March 11, 2009 at 6:34 pm
Cant wait to watch it! On the other hand,…That Shamo move is a joke.
March 11, 2009 at 7:41 pm

the trailer looks fucking sick

“3:52 I think Buakaw is the one nealing to the left (next to Yamada)”
You’re probably right.

Holy shit, Buakaw in a Fight Movie, I used to be addicted to fight movies, but after discovering MT, The movies seemed fake and Boring! And yes there is a chance that I will never like Buakaw as much as when he kicks ass for Real in the Ring, and that Coreographed stuff will seem Dull. But Definiteley will be wathcing it.
March 12, 2009 at 8:50 pm
OK I saw the Trailer and I am pumped, wanna see it ALL, Looks really Grand!!
