I was back in BKK last week running another muay thai tour, and had a chance to go sit down with one of my favorite nak muay, Saiyok Pumpanmuang or Saiyok Windy Sport. He had just finished off a very light morning session when I caught up with him. He was headed off to France where he was fighting… then on to a seminar in Italy. I’ve still not heard any results… if anyone was there or knows, please feel free to share.

As most of you know by now, Saiyok is heading back to Holland to face off with Mo Khamel, should be a hell of a fight. I’m looking forward to it… It’s going to be his third time at Slamm, if you’ve never seen him live, I’d suggest you plan on heading to Holland in May.
After the interview was over, he took me back to the MRT on his scooter. Quite surreal and unnerving as we weaved and dodged Bangkok traffic… thankfully his aggressiveness in the ring doesn’t translate into his riding…

Wow nop, thanks for the interview man! I couldn’t stop laughing when he said “I am not angry” lol because it sooo true, he is such a calm chilled out dude but its almost like something comes out of him in his fights and he turns in to a dominent killing machine. Saiyok is my idol….

“if you hurt me, I take it to you 3 times as worse!”
Hahaha!! That’s payback along with interest!

Definitely one of the most insightful interviewees I have seen. Great analysis on Western boxers and nice to hear what he admires about us (boxing skills and combos). This seems to be the “thinking man`s” nak muay. Seems to be a man who has a plan for his future..he should have a mentor session with BPP=).
So I learned that Saiyok loves Sok, SIngdam and Spectacular combos but prefers Compound interest over Simple interest.=)
Now I dont feel so odd that I sit in my free time and shadow box andcome up with combos=). AM I alone here?=)

I wonder how good he would be if he took up Professional Western Boxing,He’s still young for pro boxing so age would’nt be a major factor and He would make tons more $.The guy can punch and his footwork is suited for Boxing.
