Saenchai vs. Nico Verrezen – SLAMM 5

December 11, 2008 by nopstar

This was more competitive than I thought it was going to be.  I actually think Nico’s movement and kickboxerish style was throwing off Sanchai a little… just a little.

The only reason I say this is that he looked like he was actually taking Nico seriously.  Normally he looks relaxed even playful, but he had quiet intensity for half of the fight.  I’m so used to watching Sanchai clown fools that I forget that he’s got great hands.

I guess I’ve never really noticed his hands,  pretty damn accurate…

5:11 in the first vid… SaenchOWNED.

Man, none of the schools I’ve trained at teach clinch techniques like Saenchai uses. I really want to practice some of that stuff. It seems like everybody he faces has a huge hole in their game because they don’t know what to do when he starts with the throws.

    n/m it worked this time
Saenchai is so smooth with his head he moves just barely out of the way and then counters or ties up immediately.

Exactly Nop, you just never see him using them too much. He rocked Nico’s head pretty much, I also remember him putting Wuttidet in troubles using his hands. Watching him is a pure art.

I just love his fighting style, and his throws, well everything. And it did look like he was more focused than other of his fights against farangs. Maybe he was surprised by Nico´s skills or speed.? Gio there are a lot of Saenchai fights in K-1 fans, But here is a little treat for you,

I think Saenchai was just in a bad mood and decided to cause mayhem. Man that was brutal…

I can’t imagine spending that much time on the canvass. Props for not giving up!

I cant say anything threw him off. It may be he wanted to start off tepid and Nico was working relatively faster; or maybe he did not clown him as much and show the guy some respect. Either way..I think it was classic kingstar. He looks so graceful and confident. It is almost as he is psychologicaly prepared because he know sor sees what the opponent is going to throw. he has great reflexes and reads his opponents well in first couple of rounds. And of course…his patent move..after I throw you I will stand over you as if I wish to give you a golden shower…lol I love watching his techniques. We have done 1 or 2 of his favs in our padwork…but the master looks so graceful doing it…
    encore..encore!

Poor Nico, after all that training, this little guy makes him look like an amateur; dodging his kicks effortlessly, punching him in the face at will, sweeping and throwing him countless times… Fighting this guy must be a really really really humbling experience.

Saenchai rocks! I love training alongside him. He’s just a fun loving guy and jumps in when he sees something wrong with your style.

I train with the trainers though.

Oh, and he just got the Thai Muay Thai Boxer of the year award.

Seanchai is one of the best ever! He always seems to look a lot smaller than his opponents too.

    Sanchai’s pimp hand is strong!

I hate to see non thais vs thais. Thais almost never take non thais seriously, and why should they? Look at this guy bouncing around like he’s boxing, kicking with no strength, and he has no clinch whatsoever, I mean of course Saenchi is killing him. It makes for a boring fight IMO of course.

    padkeemaw … LOL.

    Stand-over Golden Shower technique …

That’s exactly what it looks like …

    Well, so I’ve heard ;P

How would you say that technique in Thai?

    :)
