Saenchai vs. Bellani

March 18th, 2008 · 18 Comments

I know I said I wasn’t going to be posting anymore on Slamm, but our German friends got to catch Slamm on Eurosport the other night.  Do any of the English peeps know if we get Eurosport in the UK? Anyway big props to Luckycharms for the post.

Anyway Saenchai is such a badass it’s hard not to post any video of him. Is it me or does it look like Saenchai is rocking 16 oz. gloves?  I know the guys is small but, those things look huge. I give props to Rachid, it’s just got to be so damn frustrating to fight Saenchai.

You can tell Saenchai is getting better at pulling off his cartwheel kick, he actually got a good running start on one of them. I think the only person who’s quick enough to counter this is Orono.

Actually, even Orono got caught with Saenchai’s first cartwheel kick. He gave him a little high-5 for it.

As for Rachid, like most of Saenchai’s opponents: bigger, game, but completely outclassed.

How about those axe kicks Saenchai started busting out in Round 3?

Eurosport is available on cable/ freeview depending on your package. Haven’t seen Slamm last time I looked there. They are showing ‘Kickboxing’ which is the Showtime MT in Ko Samui.
This site may help for Europort/ SkySport which also s.t. has MT http://www.livelistings.co.uk/tvlistings.php
    Hope this helps

Good stuff. I like that hop footjab. I generally either walk into mine or switch-step before I throw my long footjab. But hopping into it is quicker and more elusive. I’ll have to learn that one.

Off topic: does anyone know where I can get a CD or MP3 of thai fight and ram muay/wai kru music? The tape I had (yeah, it’s old) died…it had ram muay/wai kru music on side 1 and fight music on side 2. Thanks for any suggestions.

Tried to have a look at the listings but no joy, would love to see this Showtime MT in Ko Samui been looking for it for a while….

The word “AMAZING” does not even begin to describe Seanchai. Please correct me if I’m wrong but I think those jumping axe kicks you are talkin about were actually jumping teeps to the face, I have seen it practice it on the pad in one of ur prior videos ( they were to the body though). His cartwheel kicks just got a lot more precise and a lot faster than usual. I have been tryin to do it (the cartwheel kick) and it’s actually just as hard as it looks……lol.

WOW!!!!! Dude he is so fun to watch.. He is so gangsta about his…. Just toyed with him like a baby.

  • 9 matt // Mar 19, 2008 at 12:57 pm

watched that fight the other day and have watched it about half a dozen times since. It must be realy demoralizing to fight someone of Saenchai’s calibre?!Or at best humbling!!

But what the hell is going on with those masive pillows they’re wearing on their hands?!They look like 16 or 18oz gloves, anybody know why they’re wearing such big gloves?

Off topic, can farrang go train at Saenchais gym (13 coins is it called?)?Would love to go there next time im over he really is amazing

The white color gives them a gigantic look. Mayweather wore some white gloves with his fight against Judah, and Floyd’s gloves looked huge in comparison.

  • 11 frank // Mar 19, 2008 at 2:35 pm

They do look huge, but when he prays in the corner prior to the first bell I’m pretty sure they say 10oz

  • 12 DaleMack // Mar 19, 2008 at 2:55 pm

Nice fight ! I paused it and they are 10oz
I luv this guy wow he’s a gooood fighter :)

Looks like Saenchai has been practicing sharpening up his cartwheel kicks; very fast this time around : )
If he’s actually takes a fight serious……can anyone really ever match his skill level? Bellani appeared to be moving very slow because of Saenchai’s quick evasive skills. Saenchai ducked and weaved away from Bellani’s hands the entire fight and this is a man he boasts quite a few KO’s. It has got to be extremely demeaning and frustrating to fight with the Doctor.

Very appreciative of the vid post!

I am pretty sure You can get Eurosport in England, there is a British flag on the website, so it is available Nopstar.

  • 16 Iain // Mar 24, 2008 at 6:17 am

Eurosport is available on freeview, which is the most basic type of satelite / cable package you can get. It’s a one off payment for a box which you plug into your TV and allows you about twenty-thirty extra channels.

Eurosport would also be on every Sky / Virgin Media package as well I would imagine.
