Ting Tong just sent me a link from the AX Kickboxing forums… great news. According to Dan Green (a well know promoter in these parts) he’s bringing Saenchai to shores to square off against the 63kg WMC champ Liam Harrison.
The fight is scheduled for Feb… I know it’s a long time off, and lots of things can happen between know and then. I don’t really have any doubts about this happening as Dan was able to pulled off the last event with Diesel lek and Somluck.
I’m looking forward to seeing Saenchai fight again, I met him briefly at Slamm… and only spoke to him for about a min. (didn’t want to come off as a stalker). On a side note… If anyone knows Dan Green… or if Dan reads this blog… get in touch with me if you need anyone to translate or take Saenchai around town. As you can see I’ve done previous duty as an unofficial London tour guide!
Most readers in the states won’t know much about Liam… so I’ve compiled some footage for your viewing pleasure. Liam fights out of BadCompany in Leeds… and is a stable mate of MMT friend Rich Cadden. Here is a short clip of Liam…
He’s a tough guy, but I think Sanchai is going to be too elusive for him. It doesn’t seem like many apart from Orono and Wutthidej have had much success landing clean solid blows on Sanchai. I don’t know how to articulate what happens, but I’ve described Sanchai’s fighting style as “Sticky” It seems like when fighters press him, they get caught up in his limbs. Everything becomes mushy… doesn’t seem like many are capable of landing a clean blow… I don’t think Sanchai will do much damage either…
Here is a fight from ‘07, Liam fighting the 67 KG Iranian Muay Thai Champ
Round 1 & 2
Round 3 & 4
I don’t expect a repeat of Somluck vs. Keddle either… I can’t imagine a fight with less action. I don’t know Liam at all, seems quite talented. Honestly though, I don’t see Harrison being able to catch him with anything… I think this going to be another Sanchai HL reel/clinic.
What do you guys think?

Obviously Saenchai is a hero to probably all of us.I honestly dont think this fight will be a saenchai highlight reel though. I imagine Saenchai may approach this fight as just another fight with a good farrang that gets him some money. But I honestly think Harrison will bring a really good fight to him.Harrisons last fight in June against a Lumpinee ranked number 7 (sorry foget his name) was a master class of muaythai. Harrison completely controlled the fight and made his opponant look fairly amateurish in my opinion. On ax he said hes got 2 more big fights before this one.Bad company is forever getting top thai trainers for months at a time in their gym and when they dont they’re all in thailand training. Harrison is obviously a very tough fighter but he’s also got the skills.I been over a few time doing private lessons with him and Andy Howson and they’re both awesome.
I mean Saenchai is Saenchai nothing more needs to said about him but I imagine Liam will go in to overdrive for training for this fight so if Saenchai takes him lightly then maybe……!!!

Dan’s a friend of mine and I can tell you he loves Muay Thai with all his heart and soul. While other UK promoters were talking about representing true Muay Thai Dan was doing.
It’s truly a labor of love for Dan and it puts him heads and shoulders above virtually every other UK Muay Thai promoter.
The Uk right now is about like the US in the early 2000s going through the rapid growth in MMA interest. For Dan to still put on massive incredible shows is nothing short of amazing.
