Poonsawat Kratindaeng Gym vs. Bernard Dunne
October 8, 2009 by nopstar

Last week Poonsawat Kratindaeng Gym (Red Bull Gym) traveled to Ireland to take on Bernard Dunne for the WBA 122lbs title.

Thanks to Rob Cox for posting the press clip, Poongsawat did a media meet and greet at a local muaythai gym. He did a few rounds of sparring and then transitioned to Thai pads as he gave the reporters a MuayThai demo. Poonsawat a former NakMuay (surprise, surprise) drew applause from the media with his display of flying knees, kicks and elbows.

Here is the fight in it’s entirety… thanks to celticcutiepie for sharing with the rest of us.

holy s**t man.
H
Those pictures were taken in my gym! WOOOOO!
That was, from a spectators point of view, a thoroughly enjoyable fight towatch!!Poonsawats got a naughty left hook and an unusual and naughty right hook!!
Khannie-
Were you at the gym when he came in?
these commentators were worse than the australian douche commentators.
bernard seems like a real good guy though
lol..thats boxing bangkok style
Man, that was some sweet infighting by Poonsawat. I gotta learn how to close the distance like he does… Watching again… =)
Nopstar: I was yeah. The gym is “Bridgestone Muay Thai”. Got some pics of him and a video of him hitting the pads. It was mid-afternoon when he came in and I had to go back to work before the pic with all the lads above was taken. :( He was very nice though (but he had very limited English).
Gave away his shorts and t-shirt to two of our fighters which was also very decent. The applause for the Thai demo was mostly from the Nak Muays there. :) He still knows how to throw a knee and that’s for sure.
Very entertaining flight. Both guys just go at each other from the beginning. I didn’t think the fight would go on distance but neither did i expect the Irish to be dropped so abruptly. It’s interesting how Poonsawak just stalk his opponent the whole time–more like a NakMuay than a boxer. I guess it’s hard to get rid of an old habit.
i wish i could stream this right now….net out here is terrible….anyhow, i was training w. poonsawat at galaxy gym in salaya. it’s a good spot to work hands. definitely.
