This was the Semi-Final match up of the Thai Fight tournament. Pinca who should be no stranger to you is a very legit Nakmuay from France, who’s been on quite a roll. Going up against the heavily favored Petchmongkol.
The rules of the Isuzu Thai fight tournament are 3 x 3 min rounds, if the score cards are tied the fighters will move into a 4th round. As you can see, there isn’t much time for a feel out round so these guys are immediately down to business.
I’m always impressed by pinca, he’s can get a bit scrappy at times but for the most part has beautiful muay thai. Could you imagine if this fight was fought in the states? I found my western sensibilities being tested towards the end of this match. Could you imagine the ref stopping the bout between Jongsanan and Sakmongkol? Hell’s no this is Thailand, someone’s going to leave on a stretcher!
I was impressed with Pinca’s left hook, surprised actually how many times he was able to land it… Anyway, I’ll be posting the finals in a couple of days. Many thanks to TungstenPalm for taking the time to rip, upload and share with all of us.

Very nice fight! Fabio fought well and yes he has good techniques!
The end of the 3rd round was…brutal, to say the least! I guess the judges REAAALLLYY wanted to see Petchmonkong win this one, but over all, not loose to a non-thai. The thai cornermen didn’t seem to even congratulate Pinca for his clean victory. Bad sportsmanship…
Anyway, thanks Nop for the upload!

I’ve seen a few fights here in Thailand and the cornermen don’t always congratulate the opponent..I’ve also seen fights here with foreigners winning against thais on points..I’ve seen questionable decisions but I’ve seen those in the US as well..sorry there just seems to be a lot of bagging on thais lately

I don’t think it was a matter of “bad sportsmanship”, they probably just wanted to get the fighter out of the ring to help snap him out of it.
I think the ref made a bad decision by not stopping it to be honest with you.

Should have been stopped for sure.

Pang bai Pang bai ! That was beyond brutal. Pinca did’nt even look like he wanted to throw any more punches at Petchmongkol after the very last stand up. Petchmongkol was walking on wet noodles. Notice how he even starts to put his glove up when Pinca is announced winner. Ouch, lol !

Please forgive my poor use of limited Thai, lol. I was really just trying to say it was way too much. Went on much further than it should have. I’m learning, slowly, hehe.

Pang gern bai is too expensive… what your looking for is Gern Pai… that’s too much. and yes that was a little on the gern bai lao side of things for me.

pinca is one of my favorite farangs as for as technique and skill. hes always been game with top thai nak muays.
December 9, 2010 at 4:56 am
he doesnt do the usual kickboxing aggro farang shit. hes a smart counter attacker and you can tell hes been trained correctly in muay thai.
i never would have thought i would root for a frenchmen in some fights.

You can always root for his Italian side :D

there was such a scandolous lack of 8 counts in that last round. It was so funny when the ref stepped in and batantly didnt count petchmongkong when he couldnt even see when he got back up was looking the wrong way and everything.Even he looked guuted when the ref waved em to carry on fighting!!hahaBet the thais gave him a flogging when they got back to the gym!
December 9, 2010 at 12:59 pm
yeah, the refs favoritism was extremely obvious. pretty stupid and not safe for the fighter…

I like watching Pinca fight, one of my favorites for sure. I find that France produces some good muay thai fighters, from Pinca to Skarbowsky, to Dany Bill. I am a huge Skarbowsky and Dany Bill fan.
