I just finally got around to watch this fight. This took place in early June, as part of the Kings of Muay Thai promotion in Belarus. This fight would have been just before Kulebin’s fight with Singmanee Kaewsamrit. Petchasawin is clocking nearly 200 fights and is a Raja and channel 3 stadium champion.
So what the hell do you think that was all about? Any thoughts or theories? It looks dodgy as hell to me but then again i’ve never been rocked by that many elbows.

dodgy as hell? petchasawin got rocked the whole fight. then those series of elbows rocked his fukn world. the KO was probably delayed due to petchasawins heart.

definitely… but you honestly don’t feel like this was a bit off? To me it looks like he decided to lay down… not sure why he would do it though.

Wow, at first i was thinking that it was scary that he dropped like that, then i thought it was suspect (dodgy), but after watching his legs just before he dropped it looks legit.

It looks more like scary then dodgy to me. I hope it doesn’t represent brain injury.

What about drugs in the Muay Thai industry? I know for a fact that most fighters have never been checked on illegal substances, and I heard stories about Thai fighters being fed amphetamines to perform better, and that this is a common thing. Anyone have any info on this? It was the first thing I thought off seeing Petchasawin go down like that..

The reason it looks dodgy, and not saying it is or isn’t, is the fact that he throws a perfect switch kick(balance/everything) right after the elbow then all of a sudden goes down. There’s plenty of times people have been caught mid kick and still pulled the kick off and then went down, but he gets hit, there’s a delay, then throws the kick, then lands back normal and then goes down.

I lived and trained at sangmorakot and with petchasawin (when i say with i dont mean sparring against him, I probably would have died) for four months last year and it was pretty well known that his chin had gone wayyyy south. I would put any money on it being to do with having 200 hundred fights and taken so many hits rather than a dive.

Also in relation to the drug thing they had just clamped down on amphetamines in the camp and im pretty much 100% none of them were using any substances.

Adrenalin..that kick was the last transmission before all that brain motion resulted in SafeMode. Someone get that kid a head scan..probably alot of bruised tissue. Goes to show just how ingrained technique is. Even with concussive onset the last action was done in automatic-with great technique

I saw the same dive by a tuk tuk driver at bangla stadium in patong before

He got up fast after laying on ground and look clear eyes no wobble.

its easy for thais to throw a kick with perfect technique….its engrained in their muscle memory. so that kick with ‘great technique’ from a foreigners point of view really doesnt mean much. the video isnt that great but if you watch the two elbows before the last one it looks like they landed on his chin. and also if you were going to throw a fight wtf would you do a delayed dramatic KO instead of just dropping from a punch/etc.
