Fairtex had not been very active in 2012. He had only one fight leading up to his fight with Kem Sitsongpeenong in Pattaya, Thailand. His victory over Vladimir Moravcik on May 26th, 2012. There was a lot of anticipation leading up to Fairtex vs Kem Sitsongpeenong fight. Two fighters from Thailand with global recognition. With Buakaw and other high profile Thai Fighters sticking to fighting Farang Fighters on the “Thai Fight” Promotion, it was nice to see Two Top Thai fighters go at it.

Yodsanklai Fairtex showed up to the weigh in for his December 30th, 2012 bout vs Kem appearing to be in the best shape of his life. Not only did he look great, but he performed great in the ring knocking out Kem Sitsongpeenong with an elbow in the third round. Yodsanklai Fairtex proved once again that he is still one of the best Thai Boxers on the planet.

It couldn’t be a better time for Yodsanklai to make his American Debut after riding this win against Kem. Yodsanklai will be fighting a tough opponent in French Fighter Gregory Choplin in the main event at “Lion Fight 8″ being held on January 25th, 2013 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV. With AXS TV’s broadcast of “Lion Fight 8,” fans will be able to see Muay Thai at its highest caliber. This is also perfect timing for Lion Fight Promotions. Having a Top Thai Fighter like Yodsanklai fight on their promotion brings credibility to it.

With the moves that Lion Fight Promotions is making you can be sure that other top fighters in Thailand, and around the world will be interested in fighting for their promotion. The talent pool will continue to flourish with more exposure to Muay Thai in America. Expect “Lion Fight 8″ to be an important event for American Muay Thai.

  1. shit i dont think yod even looked this good in the contender years back. He looks a totally different person totally ripped. Cant wait to see the video of his fight with kem :)

  2. Yod looks incredible physically. I don’t think he’s ever had a 6 pack and look so lean. Good to see him putting in the effort again and hopefully getting back in the ring. More importanlty, great to see some more credible match ups. Definately creates a lot more interest and credibility when two champion warriors go head to head. I heard Buakaw will be fighting Georgio Petroysan next year?

  3. true… I’ll be the first one to eat a slice of stfu. I totally wrote off yod, I thought for sure chubby yod was going to show up… agree with the guys. I don’t think he’s ever looked this fit.

What’s his story, he went quiet after Contender, thought he was done for sure… he hurting for money? Still got the fire in his belly?

  4. Nop – I wrote something similar on ax forum.saying I didnt rate him anymore and what does he do nowadays and got this reply

“Since the kings cup in 2010 he’s beat Jose Barradas, Karim Ghajji, Fran Palanzuela, Sirimongkon Sitanupap, Antuan Pinto and Vladimir Moravcik. He got a bit of a hiding off Yashito in Thai fight and lost to Kyshenko and Prakayseang Sit Or in the Toyota final. Quite active I’d say.”

So he has been quite active it wuold seem, but defuinately off the radar a bit.If he comes to the Anerican fight in same condition as this, where hes knocking the likes of Kem out I dont fancy the opponants chances much, could be a short night.?

  5. Has anyone come across ANY video of the Yod vs Kem fight?!?! I haven’t seen a thing :(

  6. Can’t wait to see this fight!

  7. ther is no way in hell kyshenko could do that to yod again….im telling you yod wasnt right at that fight. and kyshenko sucks.

  8. I always believed in Yod! He just needed a push from both himself and fight team! He is in amazing shape! This is what hard work and dedication does and should be an example to all fighters around the world….

On another note where the hell is the fight? Yokkao are really starting to piss me off because I know there doing this deliberately! Trying to make everyone wait so it seems much better then it is….just put up the bloody fight already and stop teasing us! ARGH literally there is no sign of it anywhere online and its been like a week now. I feel like a crackhead itching for his fix!

  9. WHERE THE FIGHT AT DOG?

    SMH…

  10. I read exactly the same article on another site, written by another writer.. Isn’t there copy right?

  11. You can see the Yod vs Kem fight photos at;

Also have the weigh-in photos on the website too; http://www.MuaythaiAction.com/

  12. Anyone have any idea if yokkao will ever release this fight? And why they’re taking so long?

  13. there is footage on youtube now from spectators vid cam but not the best view and its highlights of each round.. But its enough for now http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0Kl-NcfAqU

    • WOW. kem couldnt handle yods power from the get go. he got DOMINATED!!!!! happy for yod.

      COMPUTER WIZARD

  14. Wow yeah. looks like domination indeed!

Maybe Khem got hurt in the early rounds.. He wasnt even responding to Yods attacks in the third round.
