Orono Wor Petchpun vs Faldir Chahbari – Its Showtime 2

December 2, 2008 by nopstar

Props to Gusnark for coming through with the vids.  Here is one of my favorites Orono vs. Faldir

Anyway here you go.

I’m not sure… I’m going to have to go back and watch this again. I’m thinking draw… I’m not really sure why these guys aren’t fight full MT rules.  The dutch are down…

Anyway what do you guys think?

Can’t wait to see the Bovy fight.

Wasn’t under k1 rules this event?

Yes I was at the event and it was all under k1 rules. All 3 rounders except the Tyrone Sponge fight which was 5 due to it being a worldtitle fight. imo you need atleast 5 rounds to properly judge a fight. If the fight is only 3 rounds then the beater fighter wins 60% of time but if 5 rounds then the better fighter wins 90% of the time – 9 minutes just insn’t enough. Explains why there were so many dodgy decisions. Buakaw got robbed blind!

lmao at Orono’s expression at the end…

Under K-1 rules, I’m not surprised that he lost, as close as it was

However, I agree with you Nop…these should be FTR fights. The thais will take these fights for the money I’m sure, but it makes little sense to throw them in a fight where they can’t elbow, let alone clinch. I’d be happy to see even modified thai rules. Oh well.

    Orono is still awesome

DAMN I need to get out to Amsterdam soon.

I agree pro’s should be fighting a full 5 rounds. In most cases the winner would be obvious, especially when compared after only 3 rounds. Full MT Rules would be a thing of beauty with these two.

    Nice elbow!! lol
    MMmm card girls..

Even with K1 I think Orono got it. Faldir didn’t score one single clean kick!

And this wasn’t the only fight misjugded of the event, in my opinion.

i agree with thaifan, they have to be taking these bouts for the dough…clinches are so integral to the thai style…is it just me, or was the ref really annoying?

I’m a fan of Faldir but Orono was better IMO.
It’s great how skilled Orono is at tying up the opponent’s arms (as is Saenchai). Must be frustrating as hell!
