Orono vs. Stevelmans

June 2, 2009 by nopstar

This fight was part of the Battle of Sweden event which took place March 28th.  Better late then never… as always many thanks to Stack for ripping and sharing with us.  It’s always a pleasure to watch Orono, he’s such an elusive fighter.  For those of you who don’t know Orono let’s just say he’s kind of a badass. In addition to his dancing skills, the man can fight.  Who else has wins over the likes of Yodsanklai, Buakaw and Sanchai?  Enough said.  If you do a quick search on this blog for him, I’ve got several clips of him handing out ass whoopings. ( not to be confused with Orono por muang Ubon)

I’ve never really given Stevelmans much of second look until, I saw his Max bout with Souwer, I tought he gave Souwer some hell.  All in all I thought it was a pretty good fight,  I think if they would have fought full Thai rules Stevelmans would have been out by way of  elbow.   I wish th

Anyway, I’m still looking for footage of Orono’s It’s showtime fight, if any of you come across it, please let me know.

Pretty much Haymakers vs Knees; Orono really took Stevelsman out of his comfort zone in the pocket. Stevelsman looked significantly more bulky in this fight, anyone know the weight class of this fight? Sharp knees from Orono; I caught myself cringing a few times

HAhahah Orono didint even want the trophee till he had a few good seconds of dancing in, Yeah and it was like Stevelsman had no other weapons but his hands and even then just haymakers, he looked more like a ufc fighter than a nak muay

Orono worked Stevelman’s inside and out.

The Kongpipop dance is even funnier from the same card. Orono comes across as a a more gentle (dare I say friendlier) Nak Muay than Kongpipop who seemed eager to actually go in there and start serving pain as soon as possible.

why did Stevelsman even take up a MT match?? he still needs many other skills like clinch and knee to win a MT match…he has great heart in fighting but if he thinks that he can finish a pure nak muay juz by punches, it’s too ambitious…

czh25 I agree with you on most of what you said, but there is still the chance, however small, of a lucky punch. But Orono was too skilled, and brought in the Clinch to control Warren! Good fighting spirit to fight Orono on his terms, and Come on, if you have a Fight with Orono on your Resume, and you didnt get KOed, thats pretty OK.
