Ong Bak 2 Trailer

June 23rd, 2008 · 12 Comments

Big thanks to MMCMuayThai for passing this one along.  It’s the trailer for Ong Bak 2.  I’m not really sure what they’re shooting for on this one.  It looks more like a promo clip for Tony Jaa.

It’s a bit “Jup Chai” trying to be too much of everything.  I think Pranom’s a spectacular athlete, but I don’t give a shit about his kung fu abilities… I think the idea is he’s saved by these 5 martial arts masters and is trained in each of their styles?  I guess they’re trying to branch out to a wider audience.

This weekend I tried watching Muay Chaiya… I stopped it about half way through.  I did a post on it months ago… it was the one with the ridiculous sound effects.  It really was horrible.  Not sure if I’m going to finish it.  I guess I’ll wait until I’m stuck on a plane or something.

“It’s a bit “Jup Chai” trying to be too much of everything.”

Exactly! I have mixed filings about this one. I love martial arts movies, but I’m afraid Tony Jaa wants to impress everyone way too much… whats up with the fights? Couldn’t distinguish a thing, I hope this doesn’t turn into Batman Begins fights, where you don’t know what the fuck is going on.
I just hope I’m dead wrong with my predictions… Anyways, still better any martial arts movie than Hollywood bullshit. Cheers.

I wanna see dat movie….dat movie looks hot in terms of action. I never considered Tony Jaa a real Nakmuay anyway so I don’t expect to see any Muay Thai in this movie and if I do see some elbows or knee strikes, GREAT!

I just wanna watch a “martial art” movie.
When did we become so picky about martial arts movies??? What makes a good martial arts movie??? I remember when nobody cared about story lines in MA movies….just kick ass action.

Let’s not forget that Tony Jaa is an actor and I don’t think that movie was ever marketed as a Muay Thai movie. I don’t agree wit the title I don’t think it should be called Ong Bak 2 since it looks to have nothing to do wit the first one.

If I wanna see real Muay Thai I will go on youtube or watch one of the hundreds of videos in my library.

By the way, I love Jet Li, Bruce Lee, Donnie Yeung, and the legend Gordon Lui.

    I also like Hollywood movies……lol..so forget u, Gusnark!!!…..lol…..Just teasin’ u, bro! :-D
Action Jackson is the man though!!!!

I actually liked Muay thai chaya. The plot is interesting. Let me tell you Nopstar if you missed the ending you missed everything…

I recently watched Fighting beat, which is the one of the Thai’s against the bad farnag fighters. I didn’t really like this one. Chineese looking tall and hansome thais kicking stupid farangs? Let me tell you, if a thai is fighting I always cheer for him but this was to much for me…

MUAY CHAIYA was the most realistic and well executed movie on the topic of muay thai’s progression into the modern world. 5 of out 5 no question. Anyhow this looks a Thai version of “Fearless”, although, I will most likely see this just for the fight scenes. JAA PHENOM!!!

P.s. you should write an article about how he is an actor and not a fighter and that he has learned multiple M.A.’s not just muay Thai. I’m so tired of hearing people say Tony Jaa is their favortie Thai boxer or fighter !!!! URGH!!

Jup chai is not too much of everything, more the opposite, not much of anything.

Spyda Allright! I like your positive attitude!! I was like wheres all the Muay Thai, but actually I grew up on Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Shaoling Kung fu and the not so wild Chuck Norris And Van Damme(which is a little awkward nowadays exept Bloodsport and Kickboxer((European Titel dunno if it was the original?)) kicked Ass ) So not expecting too much Realistic Muay Thai Ill just see a kick ass over the top MA Movie, and I love it.
