Many thanks to Long MMT member and supporter Dii Mak for posting this and sharing the clip.
One vs. One
By Dii Mak
Nuengsiam and Nuengpichit fought a total of 5 times in their illustrious careers. Many may have seen this fight before, it has been around for quite some time. Their fights were always exciting and very evenly matched.
It is great when former Thai champions reach a certain amount of success, and can actually extend their careers in muay thai by becoming relatively well paid trainers outside of Thailand. They come to understand how many people in the world love muay thai, and often make great friends outside of Thailand. Some former trainers outside of Thailand have been mentioned here before such as Bunkerd, Coban, Jongsanan, Khunpon, Matee, Nuengsiam in the US, and others elsewhere.

Neungpichit
I have spent the last 1.5 years in sunny Singapore and saw two new gyms open here. Baan Nak Muay / BNM has a stable of Fairtex trainers and is now holding seminars with current and former champions. Yodsanklai was just there. Evolve MMA is an official Sityodtong gym, with trainers Nuengpichit and Yoddecha there full-time. They are going to be hosting a seminar with Samart Payakaroon in the next month. How crazy is that?

Ok, back to the fight. I was very excited to see this fight as I have now been lucky enough to train under both guys. I have trained under Nuengsiam at Fight & Fitness Gym in San Francisco for quite a while. Anyone who knows Nuengsiam, knows what a great guy he is. He likes to push people hard and gives great tips on overall technique. Nuengpichit is also a great guy and really focuses on technique and rhythm. Both these guys stress speed when training. Faster, faster, faster. I guess you can see why from this fight.
Enjoy.

The two most intriguing things about this fight are:
1) the third round clinch battle
2) the referees haircut.

I like the referee’s haircut, but the fight is much more intriguing. Great to see these guys in action in their heyday.

awesome. thanks for finding and sharing the clip. not many videos of Neungsiam’s fights from back in the day, and it’s always great to see them. i’m fortunate enough to get to train with him every day at F&F, and he is indeed a great guy, and an amazing trainer (and one unforgiving mofo;).
thanks again!
