Nuengsiam “The Rock” Samphusri vs. Raul Llopis
January 8, 2007 by nopstar
My apologies for taking so long with this. This fight originally took place November 7th at the World Xtreme Muay Thai Challenge in Fresno, California. This was Nuengsiam’s comeback fight after being out of the game for nearly 4 years. His opponent is WBC 17th ranked Raul Llopis fighting out of Miami Florida.
He watched the fight for the first time last week… he was surprised by how much he felt he’s slowed down. He still feels that he hasn’t shaken enough ring rust off yet. Looks plenty fast to me… Lets hope that the US reps for the WBC will be able to put aside politics and allow Neungsiam to fight in the WBC.
Neungsiam is a former Lumpini Stadium Champion, and Mitsubishi Tournament Champion. For you mouth breathers out there who don’t know what it means to be a Lumpini Champ read this. Currently Neungsiam “Mart” is fighter/trainer for Fight and Fitness in San Francisco Ca.
I had noticed on a couple of message boards that people at the fight felt Raul dominated the match… you’ve seen the vid, what’s you honest opinion?

Damn! Nice. Do you have Rakarma’s fight as well?
Richard-
I’ll ask Ra, the copy I received only had Neungsiam and Matee’s fight. Ra’s fight was edited down…
Wow. I don’t think anyone who actually witnessed this fight in person could have said the fight was even close. And if you would have seen Raul’s face after – complete domination.
Right? I’m trying to look at this objectively… I’m often to close to the situation to see things fairly. I think he controlled Raul the entire fight. Just wanted a gut check… thanks.

“- Team FS Pro Fighter Raul Llopis lost by decision in a hard fought 5 round, full Muay Thai rules bout in California this past Tuesday Nov. 7th. 2006. His opponent Neungsiam “The Rock” Samphusri is a former Lumpinee Champion and is absolutely no slouch. According to some people that were at the fight, they felt Llopis had won the bout, but unfortunately, Samphusri was a hometown boy because he trains and teaches in California and was able to secure the decision. Either way we are proud of Llopis for going out there and representing Team FS!”
hometown boy? far from! people should watch the video and decide for themselves. if you missed watching this first one in person, try not to miss his next one…you won’t be dissapointed.
Mart definately won that fight. Llopis landed next to none of his kicks and his elbows and hands didn’t do nearly enough damage.
You got it spot on Wade.. I would call it “Ineffective Aggressiveness” but don’t get me wrong – Raul was a warrior in there not backing down. But Neungsiam is just Neungsiam..
i go to the same kick boxing academy as Llopis.. and all i got to say is that this fight is nothing compared to how he really fights.
[...] One of our fighters Evan Esguerra will be part of the action. Neungsiam “The Rock” Samphrusri will be accompanying him for this fight. For those of you who don’t know, he’s a former Lumpini Stadium champ, Mitsubishi 8 man tournament champ and all around good guy. I don’t think he’s ever been to NYC so guys please take care of him. Be sure to buy him a beer I’m sure he’ll appreciate. [...]
