I rarely stray into MMA territory but I find that my proclivities for thick women always get the best of me. (Am I the only one who thinks chunky/voluptuous Nigella is hotter than thin Nigella?) I am of course referring to “Na Rak” Nak Muay Gina Carano. I came across this, from the always entertaining fightgeek.
I’d like to see her fighting Muay Thai again, but if she is getting paid 35K per fight… I can safely say that ain’t gonna happen. I love the other women hating on her… all I have to say is work it if you’ve got it. Look at Kournakova, shit tennis player awesome management. Did her pretty face help her land Amex and Canon? No doubt, it sure as hell wasn’t her tennis ability.
A hot girl is a hot girl. You may like her more if she works out or whatever but I bet you dont like the other 2 chiks as much tough they are pretty fit too…
Haters will be haters. Haters to me bring me a certain feeling of accomplishments…so I really welcome them. These females should be more worried about trainin’ hard to be the best rather than meddlin’ and makin’ embarrassing comments about a part of people’s lives that has nothing to do with what’s goin’ on with “FIGHTING”. Gina is making money following different avenues (fighing, modeling etc…) These chicks are just mad cuz fighting is probably all they got going for themselves but like 50 cent said in one of his song “I’m laughin str8 to the bank with this/hahahaha/ah/hahahahaha”

Yes, she’s definitely hot.. What I admire most about her is that she works her ass off in and out of the gym and keeps the humility. Jealousy = hater-ism. She could be a great role model for teenage girls (that’s the father in me coming out) especially compared to the other ‘celebs’ out there.
Why is it when people start branching out to other avenues they are considered “sell outs” or not “keeping to the clause”? Rappers get it as well.

I met Gina at the last event that Fairtex put on at the Bill Graham Civic and she is probably one of the nicest and most down to earth girls I’ve ever met. Extremely personable, drop dead gorgeous in person, and a smart ass to boot (she made fun of my friend who is an Olympic level hammer thrower because he said he was scared of getting hurt if he started fighting). I think she gets hated on because she is hot and has become the defacto face of women’s MMA (I’ve heard EliteXC wonmen’s division referred to as “The Gina Carano Division”), and the other equally talented female fighters feel that they are not getting as much coverage as she does. Either way though, I’m looking forward to her fight on the 31st.
Very impressive woman, and the girls that feel she is stealing the spotlight don’t understand the good that she is doing for their sport.

She Looks Nice. And Capabel of doing good fighting. The other girls are just a bit angry and jealous, and why not, they cant really make the Media like them more than Gina, so a feeling of rejection must have occurred at some level. But she is Ass Hot Spank´able.

Completely agree with Byron. Hung out with her and her stable mates from Toddy’s after a fight in Vegas a few years ago and she is the ultimate catch.. She’s has the great trifecta – fighter, looks and personality. How do we clone her??

So long as guys dominate the audience of combat sports (and most other sports for that matter), the most attractive, successful female athletes are going to get more coverage because of the whole sex-appeal, with less emphasis on actual skill. As said earlier, Anna K is a great example of this.
I think that Gina’s charisma makes her a great ambassador not just to women but Muay Thai and MMA as a whole. The mainstream still perceives what we do as brutal, and putting a fresh, well-spoken, intelligent female face on it can only do good things for the sport.

She’s not using her looks to make money in the ring (looks won’t help u win a fight if that was the case Wanderlei Silva would be the worst fighter in mma). She’s using her looks to make money outside of the ring and there’s nothing wrong wit it.
She was born with fighting skills and good looks and haters are shittin on her, cuz she’s using them to her advantage to make her extra money. However, if she was born with fighting skills and “number crunching” skills, nobody would shit on her if she was using that to her advantage to make extra money (by doin people’s taxes.)

There are plenty of instances where I’ve heard some young ladies say “I love XXX from the UFC, he’s so cuuuuteee”. And then that fighter gets their face bashed in. Does that mean these guys are selling there sexuality instead of their fighting skills?

I, too, would love to see Gina back in the Muay Thai game. She would fight wearing the cutest Muay Thai skort (for the guys, that is a short/skirt combo)! She has definitely made a name for herself in the MMA world and it looks like she plans to stay. As a woman, I commend Gina for her accomplishments. She is wildly popular and I think it is because she is a talented fighter, is confident and knows now to market herself, thus garnering the exposure that many other female fighters seem to resent. Gina is not only a pretty face in the ring/octagon, watching her fight is a beautiful sight to see because not only is she excels at it, but you can tell she is having a great time! If anyone can pull it of, its her… carry on, Gina! :)
