MuayThai For Your PC

February 24, 2010 by nopstar

Before I came out here to London, I used to work for 1up.com in San Francisco.  If you were a gamer, there were a lot of perks.  They had a game library that would have put your local blockbuster to shame.

I used to game quite a bit and I had always hoped that we’d get a decent MuayThai game.    Yeah it’s nice to see more and more MuayThai making into games… but a pure MuayThai game would be pretty cool.  There has been a K-1 game out in the market for ages, and I thought that there would have been enough interest in the Japanese market alone to develop another one.

Despite they’re being a minuscule market for it, I’ve remained hopeful…

I recently came across this clip… looks promising.  I’ve exchanged a quick email with the developer and it so far it’s only being developed for the PC.  The developer is a NakMuay and has trained on and off since 1990.

Anyway it’s start… I’ll keep you posted when the light version comes out.

You can view additional clips here.

how about the little guy mounting for a little ground&pound after his first knockdown!!!!!!! Guess they need to clean that up a little!! haha. looks like a pretty slick game tho, fluid combos…….

Wow, you used to work for 2 girls 1up? That’s quite an interesting game.

I’m impressed with the fluidity of movement and how realistic the striking looks. Everything is a little over-the-top (the fighters’ reaction to being hit, how over-committed the strikes are – not to mention the ground and pound and stomping!). But that’s just nit-picking. I’d trip all over myself to pick up a decent muay thai game. This definitely looks promising.

This looks good for PC. As far as gaming is concerned i am a gaming freak. For a muay thai game in PC, street fighter is the one i can remember with 2 muay thai fighter’s adon and sagat. But if you consider ps2 and ps3 you have k1 in ps2 and ufc 2009 undisputed in ps3. In UFC 2009 you can choose fighter’s like anderson silva highly skilled in muay thai and knock down opponents without going for ground and pound. Also its like a real muay thai fight with clnch, knee, elbow and throws.
    For PC this looks gud.

Whats with the ground and pound? lol Kwonho online is a good game, just like virtua fighter and dead or alive. you could create your own muay thai fighter.

Awesome movement, real authentic. Seems they still need to develop striking within the clinch though.
