The is back, from a short break… This week coach Damon of Singdayt takes us through a very simple defence to the head crank.  There are a great deal of counter techniques to this, but this is probably one of the most basic.  If you new to clinching, I can almost guarantee with 100 percent certainty, you clinch partner will try to pull this.

Do not, ala Rich Franklin bend over and try to block the knees with your arms, everyone in class will point and laugh at you.  A simple way to counteract this is to get your hips in line with your head.  As soon as your head get’s pulled down, it’s pretty much lights out.  This isn’t a longterm strategy as you’ll neck will most likely tire before their arms do… this move will buy you some much needed time.

Take care with this… enjoy.
