Muay Thai Legends – Croydon
January 28, 2009 by nopstar

We’re about t-minus 10 days and counting to the Sanchai‘s arrival. If you’re living in the UK you should have bought your tickets by now.
Dan Green who’s responsible for the “Muay Thai Legends” shows has put together a great line up. The main event is our man Sanchai Sor. Kingstar vs. Liam Harrison. Should be interesting as Liam is actually a damn good fighter… he’s the current WMC champ and is sporting a legit 50-5 record.
I was sort of astonished at how few people at the gym actually had seen any footage of Sanchai. He’s probably one of the most talented nak muays of our generation. I find it hard to comprehend how someone of his caliber can be relatively unknown even at a Muay Thai gym? So this clip is for those of you who don’t know who Sanchai is. If you want to find out more here is a link to some of my posts tagged Sanchai I would recommend you spend sometime looking over the posts before you head to the fight.

I don’t expect a repeat of the Keddle vs Somrak at all. Sanchai is Sanchai but if anyone can put their hands on the Dr. I think it’s going to be Liam. I’m looking forward to it. I think if Sanchai can stay elusive he should be able to take it.
If you don’t have your tickets then get up off your ass! Tickets are still on sale call the Fairfield Halls Box Office on 0208 6889291
A fighter from our camp is also fighting on the card. One of the nicest kids around… Greg Walton is someone people should be keeping an eye on. He’s 18 and is all around solid and incredibly technical for only being in the game for a year or so. Makes me sick actually! I was holding for him tonight, and I’m ashamed to admit but, I had problems pushing him… I need a good kick in the ass.
On a side note if any of you guys know Dan Green please let him know that I’m a pretty good tour guide. He should contact me… the last time I was running around London with some Nak Muay’s it was pretty much incident free. Everyone made weight and nobody got arrested, I call that a good day.
Thoughts? Predictions?

Is it gay if you get aroused when you watch a Sanchai fight?
Not that it’s ever happened to me …
I was just asking … for a friend
;)
Should be sweet dude. I’m with you on ppl at Thai gyms not knowing much about famous fighters. People know Yodsanklai and Buakaw of course, but the like of somrak, saenchai, sakmongkol, jongsanan etc are lost on them.
Also we have fighters on the card. Nate Smandych and two females, Sandra Bastian and Misty Sutherland.
Good luck to Liam. I know he’ll make for a good fight but you know…I hate to say he’s out of his league but isn’t everybody kinda…I mean really, it’s Saenchai!
btw: I just wanna give props to his trainer. Please don’t overlook the man who’s holding pads for Saenchai everyday.
Cant believe this is happening while im out the country!! Frank what gym you from and who are they fighting?
Loving the new site layout Mai, good to have MMT up and running again.
Fight Geek LOL Fucking LOL :-D
I really pray that either it will be televised or Nopstar goes Undercover with a Camcorder(stating the obvious, we all want to see it) But as usual hope that Saenchai shows Britain what Muay Thai is really like ;-)
I train at Mike Miles in Calgary, Canada. Actually, I never cross paths with Mike, since I train at Trevor’s gym. The three of them train with Mike.
Don’t know who they’re fighting but that’s Misty on the fight poster.
good luck liam,
going to be big fight
H
What does everyone think about him being “the #1 p4p fighter in Thailand right now”?
Fight Geek: just like in Jiu jitsu – it’s not gay, so long as you don’t make eye contact.. lol
