Most of you may know that MMT friend and contributor John Wolcott has been hard at work putting together a Muay Thai Documentary. He’ll be releasing several web episodes over these coming months. You’ll be able to view them all here and on MuayThaiJournal.com.
I’m a massive fan of documentaries and even a bigger fan of Muay Thai documentaries… the teaser looks great and it’s clear that this is a labor of love for John. There is so much more to Muay Thai then the fights that we see. There’s a whole world, a culture of Muay Thai, and I’m glad someone is out there trying to capture it for us.
As I mentioned in the interview, there are several other projects that John is involved with, be sure to like his muay thai preservation project on facebook, & North Jersey Muay Thai.
Once again, from all of us at MMT, we thank you for your hard work and dedication.

Great interview, it’s awesome that on top of interviewing fighters you also interview other people involved and contributing to the sport, enthusiasts, photographers, journalists. I have a similar story to John, fell in love with the art and had a very deep interest in the intricacies of the sport, techniques, strategy etc. Had a few AM fights, did well, but the lifestyle wasn’t for me, been doing muay Thai for almost 10 years, helping with coaching for 2 years part time. I travel to Thailand every year to ‘pay my dues’ to the Muay Thai gods, with sweat, haha. Even though i’m not a fighter, Muay Thai will still be a big part of my life forever.

Thanks Tibun… like we were saying in the post… the fight we see in the ring, is just one aspect, the proverbial tip of the iceberg. So much to our sport. Love to profile anyone who elevates our sport.

Interesting stuff! Good to know he has fought, even if only in one amateur bout, I think it’s important to fight at least once to have a complete understanding of the sport.

I, too, am a fan of documentaries, especially muay thai ones. I cant wait for these. It will be good to have some contemporary media that folks can use as reference material when they want to learn about muay thai other than, well the watered down farang marketing material. Much respect for this man for his efforts
