More Chaiya

April 1, 2009 by nopstar

By Nathan Brown aka natb19

After my last post comparing the raised knee guard of Muay Chaiya and modern Muay Thai (interesting comments there… worth a read!) a few people showed interest in how us Chaiya boys practice our balance and conditioning to pull off this guard and the follow up moves. I’ve been meaning to write up a post on my blog for ages on this, but have been really busy with teaching, work and well, just living!

But, I’ve got my ass in gear at last and written a good size article which includes a video and details about the 10 basic exercises of Muay Chaiya. I haven’t got comments on my new site yet, so if you’ve got questions or feedback, please do it here on mymuaythai.com.

In regards to practicing the raised knee guard, the key exercises are numbers 4, 5, 6, 7 and 10.

Hope y’all enjoy,

Not working for me either – I get a broken layout with just a comment box. Main page loads up blank with just a background image. Ah, wait – works fine – a little slow but everything loads – in Firefox. It’s safari it doesn’t work in – all the content loads up in the code but very little of it displays. Strange because usually stuff works pretty similarly between safari and firefox.

In the process of changing hosts… hopefully this one will prove faster!

Thanks for the tip divergent, gonna try and figure out why Safari doesn’t like it!
