Moonlight Waltz

April 17, 2007 by nopstar

Came across this clip, it looks like the clips they would show in theaters before the movie. They’re referring to Thailand as Siam so I’m guessing it’s before 1939. I’m always interested in old clips of Muay Thai because they’re so rare. This clip sort of reminds me of the old Savate clip that I posted last month. If any of you guys come across anything like this send it to me, I’d love to post it.

Actually I this isn’t this bad. I’ve watched some tapes of local fights where the commentators can’t even pronounce Muay… actually here is a classic example of what I’m talking about.

I actually had to mute this clip in order to watch it.

Also, very nice fight of “Enn-tex!” I never saw that fight. Commentators sounded like DJs from the local radio station.

Nopstar…Dude…I just got finished watching that link you posted….Am I dreaming or did the guy call it “Mai Tai”??????
How bout this one ” These condition their legs by kicking a banana tree or kicking some type of tree like that”…hahahahaha…..I honestly think this was a goof and not real…they had to be playing around but if u wanna watch some bad commentating. Try listening to Mike Sawyer and his buddy ( don’t remember his name) on ISKA…absolutely dreadful

Spyda: You are so right about the ISKA commentating – I usually mute it and listen to music. I love how cable companies still label MT and kickboxing as Karate on the digital guide. How about we petition some more recent fights on Fox Bay Area. I’ve watched the same Gong-Ludwig fight about 3 times this month.

They need to put more Bunkerd fights up in there!

    Spyda-
I think his name is lon McCarren or some shit.

and no I don’t think they are fooling around. I’ve watched tapes of my trainer Bunkerd fighting back in the day in Chico or Fresno. They color commentary was so jank it’s classic.

Ernesto…If I have to watch that Bonjaski vs McDonald fight or that Marc Hunt vs Goodgrige or that Carter Williams vs Rick Roufus again…I’m gonna kill somebody. However I luv when they go to Thailand and watch fights (ie. Neugsiam, Satchai, Dekkers, Hydro etc…).
Nopstar, I beleive that these should educate themselves before commenting about a sport in front of millions of people watching. That’s the least they can do. Mike Sawyer actually invited Don “the Dragon” Wilson to one of the fight and I had to sit through him saying that Muay thai fighters didn’t have as much finesse as kicboxers. Screw them.
