Mike Zambidis vs. Kozo Takeda – K-1 Max

Here is the latest installment of action from our good friend kevin1813. Great fight, Zambidis is frighteningly fast. For Complete event results check out my K-1 Max Superfights results post.
My theory is that his shorts are so short that they actually make him faster. Damn what’s up Mr. Short, Shorts?

I definitely give Takeda props. I wish he would have kept hammering Mike’s inside lead leg. He seemed like he was only confident counter punching.
There were a few moments where you can see he get some confidence and pushed forward. Ex: when he catches Mike’s kick and hits him with a right cross.
I wanted Takeda to knee instead of being a live punching bag. He only clinched him literally in the last 2 sec. of the match.
Kozo started good, keeping the distance between him and Zambidis with his low kicks. That was the right strategy, it’s just that everytime Zamb. did close the gap….he was getting the best of Kozo. Good fight though. Zambidis’ (punching)speed is phenomenal and they are very powerful as well.

Damn, Zambo hits hard and fast! Looks like Zambidis was throwing more kicks too. Isn’t he training with Dekkers these days?
Zambidis boxing is phenominal…If he could keep that pace up the whole fight he would be a bigger force than he is now. Thanks for posting the fights!!!
Zambidis is a strong and fast fighter. Their punches are destructive.
