The Kickboxing Promotion Glory in association with WCK Muay Thai had the second installment of “The Road to Glory Series” The premise is to find the next stars in the kickboxing world. The winner of the eight man, one night tournament is Mike Lemaire who remains undefeated.
Mike takes home $20,000 and a one year contract with Glory with a chance to fight for prize money of up to $600,000. In the quarter finals Mike knocked out Evgeny Zotov with a nice head kick, semi finals he beat a real tough Andy Kapel who took a lot of punishment and kept moving forward.
Like many expected he faced Eddie Walker in the Tournament Finals. Eddie Walker stayed very poised and methodical throughout all three tournament fights. In his first two he continuously landed the right cross along with a left body shot. Mike Lemaire had hurt Eddie Walker with a leg kick which Eddie seemed to had recovered from. Eddie kept pressing forward but Le Maire continuously attacked Eddie’s leg until the referee stopped the fight and Mike Lemaire won by TKO in the Third Round. All in All, The Glory Tournament Fights were all very entertaining with a lot of action and knockouts. Stay tuned for more of these “Road To Glory” events taking place in the near future.
