Oberg earned his chance to be in season 2 nearly a year ago, when he won the “Rumble of the Kings” event in Stockholm. Oberg defeated Season 1 contender Jaokim Karlsson to get the finals of the tournament. Oberg faced Dzhabar Akerov who had defeated Marco Pique to make it into the finals. I’m not sure what Karlsson or Askerov were doing in this tournment if it was supposed to be a qualifier for season 2? What would have happend if one of the three “Season 1″ guys took the event?
I’ve noticed he’s beaten Dzhabar on two occasions, and is the K-1 Max Scandinavia winner… remind me why Askerov is in this years final 16? Who am I kidding, it’s not like talent has ever really been a factor in K-1. I think Oberg will do well… (semi final well) all the competitors appear to fairly well matched, with the exception of whoever comes out of Thailand.
Anyway enough chit chat, here’s the bout.

There’s only two things worse than Dzhabar’s haircut: his fighting and his attitude. I’ve seen a enough of this clown. Next, please.
Dzhabar really had a hard time in this fight. Oberg is a tall and strong fighter, who easily matched Dzhabar’s aggression.
I don’t know that Dhzabar cares much about being in the Contender Season 2 or not. this was a fight that he got and was paid for. on that account I can’t blame him. it’s not like there’s a tons of international opportunities to fight and get paid consistently.
I also think Oberg will do reasonably well in SE2.
Stack…..I dunno…it looks like he took the loss pretty hard. I don’t think I have ever seen someone that upset over a loss (by cut) unless something was on the line (like a championship for example). I think Dzhabar really wanted to get in this season and maybe do wut he tried to do in season 1 before JWP stopped him.
Oberg didn’t impress me but I wish him the best of luck.
I kno Zig Zag was in Dzhabar…but was it the other guy on his corner the italian cook from season #1? I think his name was Pitu or something like dat.
I really don’t like the way Dzhabar handled this loss…..there’s nothing wrong with crying….but to straight mush Oberg aside when the man tried to console him was just direspectful. I would blame it on his young age….but I’ve seen Nakmuayz half his age with twice as much maturity. I do also believe he started the fight with Bakkouri in season 1.
Yeah Spyda I can see what you mean. Dzhabar’s always been how can I say it, a bit emotionally charged? He really isn’t the most in control of himself personality. And no offense whatsoever to Zach or Pitu but I cannot see one thing either could do for Dzhabar as a corner man.
As far as what happened with Rafik I agree 100% that he started it.
I personally thought Dzhabers was on top in this fight till it got stopped. He gets a lot of stick for his fighting but whenever iv seen him win or lose he fights hard? That said I dislike how he comes across immensly, he seems arrogant and rude generally.I was in Samui over xmas and the new year till feb, and he looked juiced up to the eyeballs aswell, maybe he gets roid rage ?!
I used to like the way Dzhabar fought..alot of heart…though now he still has alot in it..but smhw i just feel that he is always thinking of the easy way of knocking down the opponent with 1 lucky punch..tt kinda victory really don’t come so often…anyway, nice fight still…
