Malaipetch and James Cook

For those of you out in SoCal and Vegas, I see Dennis Warner and company are putting on another show on Dec 5th.  The event will be a part of the Kings Birthday celebration and is out in a place called “Buffalo Bills Resort and Casino” about 35 south of Las Vegas.

The headline bout is between Malaipetch and James Cook.  Should be a great fight, James is a pretty good friend.  I actually met him when I first started training in ’98.   We had worked together in a couple companies before  I realized he was such a badass.

I’m slightly concerned about his ring rust… as I don’t remember when he last fought.  That being said James is top notch and always performs.

Malaipetch well is Malaipetch… He should have been in Malaysia filming the 2nd season of the Contender, but I think that show is pretty much dead.

Anyway I’m hoping our man on the ground Matt, will be able to get us an interview with James before the fight.

Any of you plan on going?

Living in Vegas, I’m definitely gonna try and make it out to this. And wow, I was really looking forward to the second season of the Contender Asia. That sucks man

I’m going to this show. And I heard that James cook has been training in Thailand, out of Fairtex, so I doubt he’s rusty… He’s going to give Malaipet a run for his money.

i hope we see malaipet at his best

Is this old guy any good or what? Malaipet via being malaipet…

Cook’s last standup fight was in Vegas last year against some Italian kickboxer back from the dead. Cook put on a muay thai display and got a ko. He even fought with a broken right hand so he’s the real deal.

He’s been training non-stop in mma so his fitness is top level so gas isn’t the issue. He might get pushed around a little since Pet is most likely hungry for a redemption win. He’s Fairtex too..

I looked him up, he’s college educated, has a good job and an impressive fight record with titles, jesus, he’s living the dream in my opinion. Pretty inspiring, goes to show what can be done when you have the drive and are willing to sacrifice…Oh and if you’re a throughbred Fairtex fighter *glares at Dlau o_O*

I have the original James cook Vs Malaipet, the one that was never televised.
    It was a massive war.
    :D

I want to upload it, but I don’t know if it would be the right thing to do.

I also have Samart sparring with Malaipet.

I want to upload them, but I don’t know if malaipet will get angry or something.

Good Luck James! He’s a great fighter and a cool dude! I remember that fight in Vegas too Nate! LOL! James caught that dude hard in the liver with a kick and the guy got a 2 minute break cuz he said it was a groin shot! Haha! For that whole break, they kept showing the slo-mo replay of him takin in the gut. embarassing.

I always wanted to see that fight, but I only got to see the pictures. That promotion fizzled out quick huh? All those mismatches and no one came back for more.

Good luck to both guys. Saw James training a week ago @ Fight and Fitness. He’s still a cardio monster.

What a show last night…. It was a good fight..

(spoilers: scroll down till end of spoilers i you don’t want to know what happened)

Malaipet won by TKO. James didn’t come out for the fifth round, due to broken ribs…
I guess Malaipet knew he won 3 rounds, and even did a cartwheel kick on Cook.

    (end spoilers//)
