I honestly wasn’t sure which way this was going to go. I’ve seen a couple of fights with Harrison, but he’s definitely legit. Anuwat will always be one of my favorite fighters, but I think he’s begun to slow down a bit.
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
I’m actually suprised it ended the way it did, both of these guys have great hands…

Liam is an awsome fighter but i thought he looked a little tense going into this fight.
Cant say i blame him though

The first round Liam seemed really guarded while Anuwat felt him up much more, and seemed to leave a mark… like many a first date. The second round Anuwat continued to groap Liam’s leg with his shin. The thir d round was more of the shame. Liam acted with far too much guard, and wariness to anuwat. It seemed as if the two might have been evenly matched, yet Liam held back constrained by his respect (?) for anuwat.
It was a decent fight to watch. Anuwat saw the openings, created a plan (chop the leg) and implanted it sucessfully.

Good analogy Matt.
Liam is definitely the real deal imo skill wise. I think that night he had a couple of hindrances.
1. He really strained to make the weight and couldn’t. Probably went to the ring feeling pretty depleted.
2. He respected Anuwat way too much and may be he prepped for the much feared Iron Hands of Siam too much and may be overlooked Anuwat’s kicking too.
I think a weight division up is going to be good fit for Liam. He’s definitely proved he has the courage. At the appropriate weight class I think he will shine through.
I have to say even for not being an especially big person Liam really looked quite a bit bigger than Anuwat.

Apparantly he near killed himself trying to make weight. He told my mate that Anuwat saw how fucked he looked in the weigh in and was later told that Anuwat was gona try and come after him early cause of how tired and worn out he was from the weight cut. Obviously he does respect Anuwat but dont know if this would have played much a part of the fight hes had enough experience to know the game, think he was just to fukd.Apparantly one of the leg kicks in the first round really did some damage. He has also said he going up in weight from now on cause of this fight. There is some chat of a rematch later in the year?
Anuwat is fucking good though isnt he!!

I saw this live and Liam was landing a couple of good punches, but like I said in another post, I’ve never heard leg kicks resonate like that. Anuwat put so much power in his kicks it ridiculous. Every kick was followed by sharp crack!!

I heard a lot good stuff about Liam, but this was just walk over for Anuwat. Liam didn’t have a chance at all, completely without a game plan. Liam didn’t make the weigh and was manhandled like this… it must be very frustrating for him.

Good fight. Liam did seem to be very tentative, but Anuwat was very technical with the kicking this time, which served him well! Good to see Anuwat get the W.
And the translator, wowwoweee!!!

i was super pumped for this fight, bummer to see liam struggle with weight but it happens to everyone! good luck with his future weight jump!
i met liam at Lumphinee stadium at the end of May / beginning of June and he said he was fighting at Lumphinee the next weekend…i wonder if he ever did and if that would’ve effected this fight training. oh well, anuwat is a machine and it was cool to see him collect a finish without using his hands.

Well thats the spirit liam. You really showed a gr8 heart in this fight. Keep it going.

I’m glad that Tong Po has the same views as I do. The translator is as hot as Anuwat is brutal. Great win for him!

i think the fight took place at 61.5kg, which is way above anuwat’s usual fight weight in thailand (unless he has since moved up from 57, which i don’t think he has). liam couldn’t even make that weight, to show the size difference. i thought liam was going to take it for sure, but the cut really did him in. it’s hard to imagine what a fighter experiences losing weight if you haven’t been there. anuwat is a legend, liam is an up-and-coming great, no doubt about it. thanks for the fight.

It was a good technical fight from both guys. Too bad for Liam, cutting weight sucks but that’s part of the game. I didn’t know Liam was that much bigger, I think we would be better at a heavier weight. He’s got some serious skills.

tbh everything just went wrong…i thought my weight was goin ok on the scales we were using at the hotel then day before the weigh in we checked on the fight scales and i was quite a bit over i finally got down to 61.9 at the end of it but didnt have another drop in me to sweat out, i was well and truly mangled and it was very unprofessional on my part…ill be fighting at 63 kg also now but ill still be fighting at 61.5 cos i have fought at that weight quite a few times when ive made weight properly and been strong and beat 3 top ten stadium fighters at that weight…..my fight style is to walk forward and throw strong punches and kicks but the 3rd or 4th low kick anuwat landed fractured my shin so i had to take all my weight off my front leg and couldnt get no power in my punches and left my leg open for even more punishment which then he kicked real hard on my knee joint too, i was nsat in the corner end of the 1st round and could barely get up off my stool, its my own fault for starting the fight so flat, which is prob cos i was drained from making weight, needless to say ive learned the hard way cos i cant fight for a while now until the fracture in my shin heals…there will be a rematch with me and anuwat i think March next year, although id like it asap my leg wont be healed for a few months and then i already have fights coming up towrads end of the year….no excuses from me anuwat fought the perfect fight and just smashed me…1st time ive been stopped in 62 fights, im gutted but will be back stronger

It’s great to hear from Liam himself…I thot Liam was having a cramp during the fight…ha..it turned out to be an issue of shin conditioning…heal well man..looking forward to your next fight..
