Legendary – The Movie
January 7, 2010 by nopstar
I did a post on this months ago, just wanted to let you know that movie is out and is available for purchase. Malaipetch’s a friend of MMT and I’ll always promote anything he’s doing. You can order the DVD here.
I was hoping to see him in action in the second season of the contender asia, but it doesn’t look like that’s happening anymore.
I was fortunate enough to train the other week at Malaipetch’s original camp Sasiprapa in BKK. (more on that next week) I had a chance to meet with some of his old trainers who were all quite proud of him.
I’m going to order my copy sometime this week.

Yea.. I remember the post a while back… Hopefully they upload the movie somewhere…
It looks interesting, and they’re giving away the fights that weren’t released to the public…
And the sparring session against samart…
I know the filmmaker and I saw this movie at the AOF festival where it was nominated for two awards. They have a facebook page and three film clips on the page: “Legendary” Muay Thai Movie.

There are clips on the page were Malaipet flips over some chinese fighter with a low kick.An exhibition with Samart Payakaroon and also a Yodsaenklai and Malaipet getting ready for the fight.
Its a very good movie, a few people and I cried at the end and then I wanted to train immediately
I am interested in seeing this. the trailer keeps locking up on me. When is this moving hitting somewhere that the general public can see it?
maybe I am wrong but I suggest that it is a direct to dvd release
Got it, seen it and its an excellent movie. Unfortunately, my copy starts spazzing out 3/4 into the movie.
I saw David Huey, my trainer at the Muay Thai Academy and the director of this film. He said that he started the film eight years ago, at that time there was only standard defination avalailable not like we have HD now. Anyway several companies wanted the movie to release in the theatre but since it was standard def, they tried up-rez-ing the video but in the end, when projected the picture wasnt sharp enough for the big screen. The producers of Ong Bak, Samhahkong (sp?) wanted to take it out theatrically but the same problem. They have several video deals pending but it will be a straight to DVD title now. They are selling the film festival copies and a good portion goes to Malaipet. Support the film and Malaipet. He’s such a funny and nice guy and Its really a good movie and captures the glamorous and dark sides of a fighter. I swear people and I at the film festival were crying when they saw Malaipet being stitched up at the end and understanding why he fights. I just bought a copy and my mother couldn’t watch the end.
^^
Must be one heck of a film, I want to get it… But still don’t know how to get my hands on it.
Gotta get this, thanks ;D
Got my copy. Immediately started watching it. Unfortunately I am experiencing a lot of problems and much sooner than 3/4 of the way into it. Disc errors, skipping and hangging.
What I have seen of it is ok. Good footage. Unsure about the added sound effects during fight scenes. Can’t critique it too much without watching it a few times… if I am able to watch it once given the difficulty.
I am just going to put this link to Malaipetch’s new elbow DVD right here, so that the next time I am trying to track it down it is right here in the first place I will look:
