I’m experiencing some technical difficulties… I’m still trying to get you the rest of the action from Sweden.
2nd Semi Final
Dzabar Askerov vs. Maro Pique
I’m still trying to get my hands on the 1st semi-final as well as the final. If you don’t want to know the results, then don’t read any further. I’ll post the fights when I’m able to get a hold of them.
For those of you who can’t wait… Our good friend Zach has done a nice write up of the fights and has posted some pics, which you can find here. From the looks of it the contender boys were out in full effect supporting each other.
Richelieu aka Harmen Bakke, is one of the professional photographers for SLAMM has posted loads of HQ behind the scene shots, which you can find here.

thks nop for the update! cant wait to see Jaabar’s fight against Pique.
Seems like Jaabar’s “legendary” punches did not stop after the TCA.

Obv Pique won after 3 round.. Even after the extra round he still should have won. Also that judge should have gave jaabar a warning for clinching in the lower back all the time.

Just watched this fight… I don’t get this judging. What’s with that?
Askerov is a great fighter, but I don’t see him winning here. Fight was pretty even, they were both good with hands, although nothing really happened there, while Marco was clearly better with his low kicks.
Also Milk,
you’re right about clinching. In Japan, Askerov would probably be warned or even given a point deduction.
To me Pique clearly won this.

I agree with Gusnark on Pique’s low kicks being superior. In fact, it seemed like those leg kicks were hurting Dzahabar.

Would love to see the Final, where Askerov is downed, maybe Lowkicks!?

I feel so sorry for Askerov, he was really disappointed. I believe, the doctor did it in favor of their local fighter.
Well, Marcus Öberg is in the K-1 Max Final 16 and the Contender Muay Thai.

the final was a robbery…

It’s sooo sad to see a good fighter being robbed by the judges because of “outer” interests.
