Too bad that head kick landed in the last few seconds of that round. Iron Mike’s body shots were adding up on Andy. Is it just me or does Buakaw seem to get penalized and warned a lot more than Andy…..? Andy clearly holds onto the back opponents heads for multiple knees yet I never see a point deducted. Iron Mike looked great; unfortunate for him that landed with a few tics to go

Damn, I actually thought Zambo might pull out a TKO in the 3rd. Souwer kept trying with some high kicks and finally nailed one! Props to Souwer for such a tough fight. Zam is always dangerous!

Oh, and isn’t this the 2nd time that Zambo has been tko’d/ko’d?

zambisdis got lazy and left his hand down cus he was tired a good win for souwer b ut souwer hardly looked like he was dominating the match before that highh kicked occured

I cant tell if its just Zambidis stance or the perspective, but he looks like more than three inches shorter.

Just when I thought Zambo had pulled it out in the extra round… Damn! Good fight.

1. I think Souwer won the first 3 rounds decisively, and that the 4th was unnecessary.
2. I think it’s BS that the ref allowed all those multiple knees from Souwer.
3. Zambidis is very exciting to watch. His energy forces any opponent to fight at his pace.
4. Souwer is scary.

Zambo is a rabid little pit bull. Too bad he got KTFO. Souwer looking a little sloppy.

Zambo needs to watch some saenchai vidoes of how to deal with taller dudes in the clinch.

Great fight that should be watched couple of times!
Tough to call, both fighters were great. Great combinations and non-stop actions. That’s what we love to see. Souwer is just so damn good, great defense and great leg work. Zambo on the other hand with fantastic hands and body blows.
Best fight of the tournament what was posted.

I thought Zambo had it after 3 rounds. He was landing bodyshots at will, getting those hooks around Souwer’s guard.. souwer was definitely hurt and a little mystified by Zambo’s speed in the first 3 rounds. In the extra round both guys looked very tired and Souwer just showed how great he is when the chips are down. Congrats to him but let’s not forget that Zambidis gave him a hell of a workout…

I’ve asked before but I’ll ask again. Does anyone know where Zambidis trains?? Camp name, location, phone number, anything??? I am going to Greece in a month and would like to stop by and support/train/grab some gear. Shoot me an email and let me know… bigdrawers82@yahoo.com
19 Gusnark // Apr 10, 2008 at 9:41 pm
Sakkis, check his official site:

Yeah, I’ve checked that site out but can’t find an address for his gym. Maybe I’m missing something. Thanks though.
21 Gusnark // Apr 11, 2008 at 12:23 pm
Sakkis, try their contact:
http://www.ironmikezambidis.com/ENG/Contact.php
And as I can see he trains at Mega Gym.
Cheers!

Thanks Gusnark. I used the emial contact about a month ago and heard nothing. Google mapping that addy does nothing too. I’ll keep searching. Thanks.
23 Gusnark // Apr 11, 2008 at 2:38 pm
Sorry to hear that. Try to email them more often… ask also on k-1fans.com … I hope you find what you’re looking for.
24 Sakkis // Apr 11, 2008 at 2:54 pm
Oh, K-1 fans is a whole other issue. They wont email me back either. I signed up. They said to wait for a confirmation email…it never came. Every time I try to log on they say that my user name is already logged on. What??!!?
Anyway, thanks for the tips.
BTW, I’m bummed that Greece wont be further represented in this event.

WTF!, how does Souwer get away with all those clinches and multiple Knees!???. Buakaw is getting his ass chewed up about clinching and the refs completely ignore everyone else CLEARLY clinching. Buakaw even goes as far as to not try to look like the clincher and still gets warned for it?!. Bitching aside, I noticed Souwer seems to have this god like ability to turn a losing fight into a winning one. Zambo was clearly winning the fight until that happened, tough luck.

I thot Mike had the first 3 rounds alr..souwer was dominated by his punches…even when he kicks to keep him away..it was nt all that effective….
The DUMP refs called for an extra round…which was unlucky for mike….lucky for souwer to land the kick in head..
